We have formatted and reinstalled win 2000 to drive D. We will use a bkp
file we made from its previous installation on drive C. Are there any
specific methods we should consider when restoring with this bkp?

Depends on what you're going to restore. Any registry pointers sensitive to
drive letter would be incorrect. So restoring the registry or program files
folder would probably be out.
