Here is my network setup

ISP---->ADSL/Modem---->Router---->Switch----->DNS Servers/SAP-Server
Client Machines

DNS Server IP-Address (192.168.10.2)
Default Gateway (192.168.10.6)
Pref DNS (192.168.10.2)
Alt DNS (192.168.10.6)

CLIENT Machines
The ip-address range as-per our DNS is (192.168.10.1 -to
192.168.10.151)
The Default Gateway of the client Machine is (192.168.10.6)
Preffered DNS (192.168.10.2)
Alternate DNS(192.168.10.6)

Here is the scenario which I am facing :- the client machines are abl
to access Internet, they are also able to access the SAP Application
from the SAP-Server and do the programming stuffs & Users are able t
login into their Network Login Area(i.e Roaming Profile) on any of th
client machines which was created on DNS-Server ,but client machine
are not able to ping the DNS-Server and they are not able to ping th
SAP-Server.

From the Client Machines we are able to do Remote Desktop Logon o
SAP-Server (192.168.10.7),but we are unable to ping it and also th

Since you're talking about WinXP PCs in a Win2003 domain, you're
likely to get more answers if you post your question in a WinXP and
Windows Server newsgroup. Best to use cross-posting!

Hello klsingh,

I assume the x.x.x.6 DG and DNS is your intenet router, remove the address
from the clients and server and use only the domain dns server. Also check
that no firewalls are enabled.

Best regards

Thanks for the reply,I undersatnd ur point , my previous Network Setu
had the same ip-address as you have stated,

The DNS IP-Add was (192.168.10.2)
Default Gateway was (192.168.10.1)--->this is the ip-address of th
switch from which the DNS-Server and the client machines ar
connected.

The client machines was having
Default Gateway was (192.168.10.2)
Pref-DNS was (192.168.10.2)
In this scenario I never had a problem in accessing domain or pingin
it,but I was unable to provide the Internet connection to the Users.
How to provide the users with internet access since the the route
ip-address is 192.168.10.6 , let me know if there is any solutio
wherein I can provide the users with internet access as well as DN
access
