Dave,
Many thanks for taking the time to reply, but I've just fixed this
issue, and it turns out it wasn't a driver issue. It was the problem
as described here:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/822052#6b.
I got the system up using bcd4win, and deleted the reg entry it
referred to, and voila!
