I recently updated my machine with the MS07-041 update via automatic updates.
Despite this the 'updates for your computer...' icon keeps reappearing
prompting me to install (again) the update.

Does anyone know how I can correct this?

Many thanks,
Ben

Ben,

Please go here:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/Bulletin/MS07-041.mspx

Scroll down to 'Update Information '
Click the plus sign next to 'Security Update Deployment'
Click the plus sign next ' Windows XP '
The Deployment Information table shows where to locate the installation
log file and the Registry Key Verification
Click the plus sign next to 'File Information'
Locate w3svc.dll and compare Version numbers of the update and the
instance of w3svc.dll on the system

If everything checks out, then something is wrong with the detection
scan and the reoffering of KB939373.

Thanks,

The .dll files correspond but I am still being prompted to install the update!
Any more ideas...?

Thanks,
Ben

Did you confirm the registry key information, Ben ?
If the files and the key are correct, than just hide the update when
it's reoffered again -
When the update icon appears in the Notification area, click it
Choose Custom or, if the window opens with the box checked next to
KB939373, UNcheck it, click OK, put a mark in the box next to
" Do not show these updates again ", click OK.
