August 16th I installed eleven (11) updates from Microsoft Windows Update
site. I am using Windows Xp Home Ed. with Service Pack 2, and Windows
Defender. Nine of these were Security updates, and after reboot, Defender
message showed change to startup folder by ServPkUpdtserv.exe . Upon opening
Defender Tools/Software Explorer/Startup Folder, I noticed two (2) instances
of command.com within 'Publisher Not Available', and Startup Value:
command /c del "C:\WINDOWS\SchedLgU.Txt_tobedeleted" . As both instances
were identical and not signed, I disabled them. Anybody know what these
MS-DOS apps represent? Could this be the fix for the Defender Pop-up
annoyance? Thanks for any advice.
