Tried to play music on my computer (Win XP SP2) but cannot seem to hear any
sound through my Microphone even though the Windows Media Player is playing
the music.

I have a sound card which is listed in the Device Mangager. I've also
installed a sound driver..but still cannot hear anything.

Where could the problem be???

WindowsXP has a / Help / Troubleshooting function
for this. I do not know how good it is, but it probably
directs you to check the simplest things first, i.e.
external speakers connected and switched on and
not muted by software. Keep a written record of your
progress with the Troubleshooter and post back here
with results. (You hear music through either the
PC's internal speaker or (better) externally connected
stereo speakers -- not the microphone.) Most audio
software provides separate menus for Playback and
Recording, each of which allows you to customize
which hardware or software inputs are available for use.
