I have a Memorex 510L DVD burner runing on XP Home, and it's now saying the
drive is "not accessibleincorrect function. I notice that it's isted as
DVD+-RAM in Device Manager but it's DVD-RW drive in My Computer. Acronis
and lNTI Backup also see is a DVD RAM.

Apparently some apps want it to use a DVD RAM disk. How do I get it back to
the way it's supposed to be? Thanks for help....

check drive properties and ensure the recording function is enabled

XP can't record DVD-RW discs natively. Setting that record function is only
applicable to XP's inbuilt ability to write CD-R and CD-RW discs.

To write DVD-RW discs requires the use of a third party disc burning
utility. XP can however write DVD-RAM natively (it just treats it like any
other removeable disc drive).

I use either NERO on NTI, so I am not recording from XP. It's those
programs that are rejecting the disks, but I have previously recorded on the
same brand of disks with the same progams. So I am really puzzled as to why
it's behaving this way now.
