STOP! the Add New Hardware Wizard

Windows XP SP3.

I got a new printer. There are problems. Until I have time to troubleshoot, I want to work without the printer. The Add
New Hardware Wizard keeps popping up. It pops up every 30 seconds.

I'll be back in a few days to get help troubleshooting the printer connection.

In the meantime, I need to STOP the Add New Hardware Wizard. How do I stop it?

Unplug the printer.
