Recently an installation disk created problems with my CD's drives,
a CD/DVD-R and a CD. I uninstalled the drives and they reistalled.
The problem is that I hear a clicking sound when they play. I was
advised in a forum to uninstall the primary and secondary IDE's. It
solved the problem.

Once again an installation disk (the same one) has created the same
problem. I looked at the IDE's and I now have three primary and three
secondary IDE's.

Question - I would like to do the uninstall thing again. Should I do
it on all three primary and secondary? They are all identical, except
that the first one of each does not have a disable function.

I appreciate any help.

Boot into Safe Mode, open Device Manager, delete/remove ALL the CD/DVD
drives you see, reboot, Windows will re-detect the drives and install the
drivers.
