Hi,

I have the following problem, when i want to play an orignal/bought movie on
my Laptop
nothing happends. The DVD is not seen by explorer and not by any of my DVD
programs,
not even by Nero or AnyDvd.
The DVD plays ok in a standard DVD player... and the Laptop player/burner
can read other DVD's.

What's going on? protection? regio code?

TIA
S.

Without any more information, it could very easily be any of the
reasons stated above, viz., Region Code, PAL vs. NTSC, etc. So,
just what make of laptop, where bought, how regionalized, etc.?

Looks like you need a DVD PLAYER (software)
Try the freebee (GOM) first. If that works go for a better one.
(Either of the others)
Good luck, S. :-)

Just by what you say, it sounds like you have a new laptop. I also
bought a new one recently and found out that I had to set my region
code on it for the first time. Even though I could burn them, I
couldn't watch them until I did this.

Thanks a lot, it's new indeed and the hardware info said to me that was
region 2, which is
the one a need, but after your story I set it 'again' and then nero showtime
popped up and showed me the intro
of the movie.
Thanks again to all who gave answer.
