Is there any way, whatsoever, that Windows XP Professional w/Service Pack 2
can utilize more than 4GB of RAM? I've installed the 64-bit version and while
the OS can now see all 8GB of RAM, the 64-bit version leaves much to be
desired in the way of compatibility with apps, games, etc.

Thanx.

Nope. 4GB memory space for the 32 bit version.

Okay then.

Is there a way to make x64 more compatible with everything else?

Sure, ONLY buy hardware from manufacturer that provide 64 bit drivers,
and only use programs that are 32 or 64 bit, 16 bit programs are not
going to work. IF you really need 8 gig of memory, then you will need to
configure the computer to support it.
