Is there a way for me to find out my ID and Password on my D-link 624
router?

The ID and PW which I wrote down some time ago does not seem to work when I
use Network Magic.

If you can, then toss the router. Its not secure.
There are reset buttons on the back of all the routers I've seen to
reset it back to factory defaults, 'out of the box'. If you know what
changes were made, its an option for you.

There is no way I know of. The only way to regain access is to reset the
router to its default settings and access it using the default
username/password. Once you have access you can change the default un/pw to one
you choose.

And when you log into it from a browser, what happens ?

For example, the router might be here. The browser should
prompt for account and password, if you got the address
of the router right. The reason I picked 192.168.x.x is
because it is a private address, and unroutable to the WAN.

Maybe looking at the DLink manual, will tweak your memory
about what you did.

I have this same router and network magic, on initial logon for network magic
it's looking for the default login admin and leave the password blank, it's
not the router, it's a wierd event with network magic, once you sucessfully
logged in using NM you can change the router login back to whatever you want.

Thanks a lot. THAT was the answer I needed. VERY strange that Network Magic
is asking for the initial ID "admin:" and then goes to work, even though I
had changed the ID when I reset the button in the back and chose a different
name from the default.

But your answer worked! That is what counts. Thanks again. Without your
answer I would have NEVER figured this strange thing out.
