I get a blue screen of death shortly after inputting my password, it reboots
my PC way too fast for me to read the text. How can I determine the cause of
the BSOD and fix it?

TIA...Les

Things to try:

Run a RAM test

Run the harddrive manufacturer's diagnostic.

If your hardware checks ok...
boot to the recovery console

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314058

I advise running chkdsk /r

I tried the chkdsk /r diag. No problems found. I re-booted and same results.
No Mfg. Diags. that I could find.

you can get a RAM test utility here

http://oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp

the HD diagnostic, you'd get from the website of the manufacturer

if your hardware is ok...
then try a repair installation

Thanks for all of your input, it is greatly appreciated. I tried everything
and still no joy. I've had to replace the OS. Oh well, if that's the worst
thing today it's still not a bad day!

Thanks again...Les
