I didn't copy down my Nvidia video card's serial number before I sent
the documentation away for a rebate. Is there any way I can access it
via software so I don't have to pull the card out of my machine? It
isn't displayed in the System Information portion of the Nvidia Control
Panel. I want to contact technical support and one of the requirements
is the card's serial number.

Thanks

You'll have to have a look at it I'm afraid

I'm sure you'll get more ideas, but someone just put me onto cpu-z.

It sure dumps some good stats, but your video card has to have the
serial number in its rom chip before its of any value software wise.
Thus you might just have to open the case.
PS. I place all my cards on my flatbed and take pictures of them.
Sure saves a lot of effort. BOTH SIDES. You never know when some
piece of info like a chipset ID, or location of pinouts, or something is
needed.

Unless nVidia provided a utility for that purpose, no. You'll have to
open the PC and look at the video card. One long shot though: Some
manufacturers place the items serial number on the packaging, if you
still have that.

Thanks everyone, but I was able to read the serial number, although be
it upside down without having to remove the video card.

I think you are just like me.

It took you ten minutes to read it upside down...
but it would have taken one minute to pull it out and replace it <G>!!!!

Nah... If I can get light on it then I can read it in any direction
possible without even really thinking about it.
