My XP constantly forgets the view settings of certain folders. I have
defined Details-view as default for my system but certain special
folders, like "My Computer" or "Control Panel" I prefer to see in icon
view. However, each time I open any of these, they are shown in
Details-mode again and I have to change the view mode AGAIN! Grrr!

How can I convince this darn XP to memorize these settings?
And don't tell me to check Tools => Folder Options => View => "Remember
each folder's view settings" because that is of course set.

I like seeing my details of my folders when I view my computer. Its exciting
to see windows do so many things for me. Windows makes you feel smart even if
you are not you can feel a false sense of intelligence. thats what the
cursors and browser buttongs do psyhologically
