I just recently built a new computer and installed Windows XP 64bit SP2. One
of the problems I am having is that I liked being able to see thumbnails of
my video files whether they be .avi, .mkv, .ogm, or .mp4. Though after
transferring over all of my files I noticed that only a few .avi would still
show a picture, but not all of them and especially none of the other formats.
I am wondering if anyone might have a way to get around this problem since I
never had it with 32bit windows.

To give some basic info running 64bit XP with 4GB of ram, have WMP 10
installed by default, but use Combined Community Codec Package to watch my
video files. Any help would be nice.

Just to add this I read on the site that another person had problems viewing
the thumbnails in Explorer as well, but that they would show in open file
portion of Windows Media Player (with thumbnails enabled). Wondering if it
has something to do with using 32bit codecs/software with a 64bit explorer.

Nero? windows does not show many media types by default and even for avi if
this uses codecs that are not installed some avi dont show thumbnails...

you must have installed nero or some other video program with codecs in
order to be able to view files like those that you say

Im interested for you to tell me because I have never seen thumbnails for
these types mkv, .ogm, or .mp4
