Wow...I re-read the post and see that I missed something !
The only possibility is that he used the method I described...
but installed XP on a fat16 partition.
Since a fat16 partition would have to be 2 gigs max...
it would be a trifle impractical...
but I guess it must be possible then.
I sure like to fool around and experiment a bit
but that's something I would not have thought of trying...
