I want to open LiveMail when I log on so it will be checking email while I go
pour my coffee. I'd prefer to have it open minimized, but I may be asking way
too much.

Ideas?

The easiest way is to put a shortcut to the program in your Startup
Folder. Edit the shortcut properties to have it start minimized.

Thanks for your response, but perhaps I didn't do it right - I pinned it to
the startup menu, rebooted, and it didn't open when I logged back on.

Not pined to the Start Menu, place a shortcut in *your* *Startup*
folder. Your Startup folder is located in your user profile folder at:

C:\Documents and Settings\Your UserName\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

If you want a program to start for all users who log on you can put the
shortcut in the All Users Startup folder:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

Right click Start and choose Explore. You should see the Startup folder.
