My company is planning to install a Windows 2003 server to use in HR
system. We have 20 Win XP Home and 1 Win XP pro desktops. What must I do
to ensure everything works- eg, I hear that we can't use Win XP Home for
domain log in?

Thanks for any advice.

Does this mean we need to buy and install 20 Win XP Pro to install in
the 20 Win XP Home desktops.

What will be the best way to go about it- must retain email, documents,
files for each user desktop.

Is there no way to make Win XP Home work in a domain?

No, XP Home will not work in a full domain environment. File Sharing is
similarly hampered.

Your best bet is to acquire a Volume License agreement for the required
number of licenses for Windows XP Pro with SP2 or SP3 depending on what your
XP Home systems are running and do an in place upgrade. As with any major
upgrade, ensure that you have a backup of any data you can't afford to lose.
