As a newbie,is it OK to have 2 firewalls operating on my PC.One is the
firewall that Microsoft installed in XP and the other included in Anti-virus
set up I bought.

You do need to have a firewall running, but there's no point in
running more than one. My position is that running two or more software
firewalls simultaneously is generally unnecessary and can _sometimes_
cause conflicts, potentially negating the protection of both. Even if
there is no conflict, having two firewalls running simultaneously is
almost certainly an unnecessary drain on system resources, without
providing any additional benefit.

If you`ve installed the one you bought , it might have "disabled" the
XP one which is "good" . What is the paid one ?
