Had MS done that then everyone would have been forced to upgrade or
replace there hardware, at enormous cost! And every replacement
computer would have included a fresh Windows XP-SP4 license the
license fees of which would have been trousered by Unclue Bill & Satan
Bullshit.
However Another Brian is right when he says there's no complelling
reason to go to Vista yet, maybe as developers start to play with
their news toys in VS2008, Silverlight, Expression Blend etc there
will be.
Vista needs a "killer" app - Office 2007 ain't it. I've been
playing around with the MS LIve stuff, it's pretty hungry so perhaps
it will give folks a reason to change - there's little point in
putting more than 2G Ram on an XP box and that's what I have.
