    - Network setup for XP media Center edition So, I'm trying to set up my home network, and because one of my computers uses Media Center edition, I have to create a network disc on my main PC, which is fine, but it saves it to a floppy disc, and I don't have any floppy discs, but more importantly, I don't have a floppy drive on the PC that's running Media Center edition.     - Windows Task Manager frame has disappeared The frame of my Windows Task Manager has disappeared. This is the blue part with the min, max, and close buttons on the top right.     - user desktops Hello, our computer is set up on a network, Our IT dept. told us to log on, log off, and then log on again and that woould allow each person that logs on to have control of there own desktop. Active Directory is not involved here. In the Group Policy Editor (gpedit.msc) I want to turn off IE's prompt to download ActiveX Controls. The setting for this is at: User Configuration Administrative Templates Windows Components Internet Explorer Security Features Restrict ActiveX Install Internet Explorer Process = Enabled After setting this policy I log off and then log back on but IE still prompts me to download ActiveX controls (Acrobate Reader, for example). It seems the GP setting is not taking affect. Any ideas why? A follow up question is this: My understanding is that, contrary to the name, "User Configuration" policies apply to *all* users, not individual users. So, setting the poilicy for one user account affects *all* accounts on the machine. If this is true, why does the Group Policy editor have separate sections for "User Configuration" and "System Configuration"? Perhaps it *is* possible to specify separate policies for different accounts. This is ultimately what I want to do. I have an idea on how to do this (by copying .pol files and invoking gpupdate.exe) but the fact that ActiveX installations cannot be turned off is stopping me dead in my tracks.     - wrong & missing info-plez help Sorry if I posted here too. But no one was able to help.... I just got a new CD and wanted to rip the 14 tracks to my desktop pc, using WMP11. When the CD was inserted, i was surprised to see that it said unknown album/artist. I restarted the pc and started over again and this time, it listed all 14 tracks but the songs were 50% wrong in name. One song was listed 4 times (one of those misspelled), meaning some song titles were not even there. But nonetheless, it showed 14 tracks. I then got on my laptop. It did the same thing.     - Searching Network drive in WinXP On a user's laptop, he goes out to a network drive to Search for a particular file type, by clicking on the Start Button, going to Find Files or folders then entering the file spec (*.dwg) and chooses a particular Network drive. Every time I try and move the setting to the highest, the screen goes weird and there is a partial view of a box in the far top left corner of the screen.
