Have WinXP Home. Attempting to "Mount" a diskette created by W98 DoubleSpace
but cannot find any referrence to DoubleSpace in Win Help. Nor any

Nor will you. WinXP has no support for DoubleSpace. You'll need to
find a Win98 machine to get any files off that diskette.

DoubleSpace was a compression algorithm. Windows XP has no support for
DoubleSpace.

Do you still own a copy of Windows 98 (that you can install; i.e., not
an upgrade unless you have a prior version from which to upgrade)? If
so, install it inside a virtual machine. You can use either VMWare
Server or Virtual PC (both are free).

You might try looking around at bootdisk.com I think it is, and get a
boot disk (use a CD actually; make it bootable) for win98 which
contains the ability to read the dblspace file and uncompress them.
Boot frm it, uncompress them.
