Hard drive address

Again, thank you Bruce. I see by your responce that I didn't include all
pertinent info. My friend built this unit for me and was immediatly deployed
to Iraq. He had already "named" the computer, and had not created a "user
account". When I got the computer and fired it up, if I recall corectly, I
simply typed in my name when prompted. In this case, do both steps
recommended apply?

Yes. You may not think you have a user account but you do. Go to the User
Accounts applet in Control Panel and you will see all the user accounts on
the system.

Best practice with Vista:

1. Create a Standard user account for yourself that you will use every day.
Name it what you want.
2. Create an Administrator user account that you will never boot into. Call
it "tech" or the like.

If you still don't understand, go to the Control Panel>User Accounts and
make a note of what you see. Then post back with that information.
