When using 'Differential' backups, and you delete a file from your desktop,
will the deleted file also be removed from your backup the next time you
carry out a differential backup?

I would like to back up my files and then delete them from my hard drive to
free up some space, but am concerned that, if I do, that the files will also
be deleted from my backup.

It would if you overwrote the last one, but you could make different files.

Why not just archive them to DVD or such. Then who cares.

Where are you backing up to ? - but basically the backups shouldn`t be
deleted .
