I have Windows XP and for a week my computer will not shut down
properly..only manually..
When I go to the start menu to shut down..it goes into end program now..and
will not close the program.
Help! Very frustrating!
It also has been working very slowly and it is difficult to open websites,
etc.

You probably have a unresponsive process that hangs at shutdown...Does
restart have the same...Either way,to fix it,open event viewer & get more
details for when this happen(s)..To eliminate the hang-up,go to run, type:
regedit,in regedit,expand:HKEY_CURRENT_USER\controlpanel\open desktop,
locate:AutoEndTasks L.click on it,go to edit,modify,set to 1 From 0,close
out
regedit...
