I am looking for a program that can compare two disks and list the files
that are present on one but not the other. I'm not too concerned with
whether the files are the same or not, just their existence. Ultimately,
I will need to copy the files from disk A that are not disk B onto disk
B, so if the program can do that, even better.

TIA for pointers to such a utility.

Microsoft SyncToy - a Powertoy for Windows XP.
It can do what you want and more - assuming you mean these two 'disks' are
connected at the same time.

PowerDesk will do that nicely. The "free" version is hard to find; you'll
have to search the site for it.

I liked it well enough I paid for it and replaced windows Explorer with it.
Highly recommended.
