I had this working before but can't get it done this time.
HP Deskjet 840Cconnected via single port USB print server to 3Com wireless
modem/router.
Desktop PC connected via ethernet cable to same, printer works OK from there
but not from the laptop, it's not seeing the printer at all. I have
installed XP drivers on laptop.
Internet and e-mail working OK from laptop.
Have enabled file and printer sharing in XP and it's the default printer.
Also enabled sharing in printer properties.
Can ping the print server successfully but trying to print get "document
failed to print" message.
Went through the troubleshooter, it didn't help.
Have gone through Add Printer Wizard but get stuck on which port it's
attached to, it's not attached to a port. Tried all the listed ports
anyway!
Also checked firewall, using the free version of Comodo.
Looked here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/networking/expert/honeycutt_july2.mspx
but it didn't help.
Advice on how to get this working appreciated.

It's OK, got it working though I don't really understand how.
In Printer Properties went to Ports and added a port which wasn't in the
list.
