We just are moving to Outlook 2003 from Groupwise and receive the message "A program is trying to access e-mail addresses you have stored in Outlook. Do you want to allow this? When have to check the check box and select YES for access. We want users to not have to receive this message. We still have several users utilizing Groupwise so we can't attach the Outlook Reference library. Here is the code we were using below.     - Suggestions for deployment I work in a small office enviroment. Being that it's small, when someone is absent, others sometimes have to finish reports for that person. We run into permission problems with documents. (.doc) In particular, I have written some code that reads information for a floppy and inserts that data into a document with formfields. No problems so far. The report is printed immediately and the doc is never saved. So if it gets opened as read only, there's no problem. In my searching of the forums, the best answer seems to be, to this is a template, instead of a document. That's no problem. I can correct that easily. However, all that data is collected in another document for a monthly report. As the infomation is pulled and inserted from the floppy, I also insert it into a word table that is the monthly report doc file. This one is where I have trouble. Since someone else could be processing the report other than the original user, the macro always stops and asks the user to change the name because Word opens it as a read only. Since we get floppies all during the month, changing the name could result in multiple copies and lost info. (Not all of the employees are computer savy either in knowing the difference in templates and documents) My thoughts on this are to write the data to a text file, and then when the monthly report is due, open a template and insert from the text file. Would I have the same problem with the text file? (Or INI file) Exporting to Excel or Access seems a bit overkill. Are there any better solutions?     - File in document program willnot respond when clicked to open. When I open Word, I go to Documents to open a folder with a few files in it. I click on the folder and the computer locks up with a message that word cannot open the folder. I have to hit "Ctrl,Alt,Delete" to close Word.     - Images never paste in document as "inline" Hi, Word2003. Tools.Options.Edit.PastePicturesAs - Inline with text. I am trying to paste an image from the clipboard into a Word Document via VBA. I have the setting set correctly under tools. It never pastes as inline. After pasting, I always have to explicitly convert to inline shape. Also, because it doesn't paste inline, if I am trying to set the image into a table cell, the convert to inline shape sets the image in the correct row, but always column 1, not column 2.     - Is there a better way? I am trying to develop a routine that will present user with a list of items which the user can select (1 or more up to about 20). Once the user makes their selection the items will be insert as bullet-ed items into the document. At this stage my most promising idea is to put the items on a userform in textboxes with a check box beside each textbox. if the user checks the checkbox that item will be added to an array. When the user clicks a command button the contents of the array could be inserted into the document. I am wondering if there might be a better (simpler) way to accomplish this. Perhaps grabbing the items from excel table or a access table? any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.     - Field FILENAME update I need the FILENAME field to update automatically when a document is opened (not just when the document is printed) Microsoft declare that they have stopped this happening to improve the speed of opening a document. I have also experimented with Autotext fields with no luck. MS also tell me that the workaround is to write a VBA module (something like activedocument.fields(1).update) which updates the field. This I understand. Overall, I have written a procedure (called UpdateDoc) to help an operator update over a 1000 docs. This procedure embeds the FILENAME field and it would now seem that I also need to add a Document_Open() procedure to the ThisDocument module. Again I have no problem with this. BUT How do I append the Document_Open() procedure AS A PART OF THE OVERALL UpdateDoc PROCEDURE?     - Delete character and prior letter Hello all. I have one of those keylogger programs that records emails being sent. The problem is it records every keystroke, backspace being a keystroke. A backspace is recorded as [backspace]. So I took the file and did an edit/replace to remove backspace], leaving the front [. So conceptually, I was hoping for something that would start at the beginning, find each [ and delete it AND the letter immediately prior to that. It's the first time that I work with macros and I managed to get the list of recorded macros in the word taskbar.     - Extending Word Model Object I'm writing quite a complex application in Word. I've a lot of code that I would like to keep clear. I thougth several time of using custom classes, but I don't know if I can achieve what I have in mind. If I'll create a new object MyRow, how I can tell Word to use MyRow in the normal Table object instead of the normal Row? Do you have any suggestions?     - I don't like the new "Open" menu that was updated in Word. I have recently received a number of updates, one of which has affect my "open" menu screen in Word. There is no longer the selection of choices of ways to handle the folders and documents in Word on the left sidebar of the menu. I found the old menu page very helpful, the new menu page is a hindrance. I would appreciate it if the old setup of the "Open" menu page could be restored. In addition, it would be very nice if, when you log off the computer and are told there are updates waiting, that a list of updates and a brief description of each be made available to the user first, with the option to accept or decline, before the update is installed. If this had been the case, I may not have the problem that I am currently presenting here. Automatically installing these updates, as the system currently does, leaves me frustrated with unknown changes nearly every time I log back onto my computer - this is not much appreciated. I really like the product in general, but I would like to be the one to control what I use and how I use it.     - Tab Key on User Forms Word 2004 on Mac OS 10.4.4 is not allowing me to create dialog boxes in such a way that the user can use the Tab key to move from one text box to the other. I have done this many times in Windows and earlier versions of Word for Macintosh. Furthermore, when I set a textbox as tabstop=0, the expected behavior of having the focus on that textbox when the dialog box displays does not work. The user has to first click in the textbox before it will accept typing.     - Envelope Template (Delivery Address Field, Address Book) I am a Mac user, and have some questions on the Word Envelope template from Project Gallery. Is there a way to have one line bolded on the delivery Address (Ex. company name) each time I insert a different contact information from the adress book? I would also like to know if I could insert a title, and a job title on a document using the address book. Currently, the Address book allows me to insert name, company name, and the address on a page. I am not sure it has do with my setting.     - Converting Word to html with track changes Any suggestions on how we can get a clean copy of an .html file displaying track changes through Word? I know, I know. Converting Word to web is not the ideal solution, but let me explain the problem. We have some policies that need to go on the intranet site and we would like to display the 'Track Changes', so that the 'ees can see where the changes were made, rather than the legal-eze hoj-poj that usually goes something like: 'Adendum: Paragraph 1 to be altered, blah blah blah.' Aside from manually adding strike-throughs, underlines, font color changes and highlighting text, the best way to do this is through 'Track Changes'. It appears that the 'Track Changes' will convert into html and looks great, but when we try to bring it up in the browser window, there are highlights where there should be underlines, bold text appears where it shouldn't, and some of everything looks as it should while other parts look like we stuffed it in the blender. Usinng word2k, Win 2k
I found this Code on the mvp website. It looks pretty straight
forward. When i tried to run it I get a "runtime errror 3011" Microsoft
jet database engine could not find object 'myobj' make sure the object
exists and that you spell its name correctly and the path name
correctly.
I have double checked the spelling a path to the "named range i am
trying to load. I have verifed the reference to dao 3.6 object library,
