The users need som help and the helpmethod in formfields is not good enough (the users don't se it). So I thougt of the comment object. It is perfect if you use the mouse to select the formfields, but the users of cause use the Tabkey (which is good *S*). I have the code to use the comments in af msgbox (MsgBox ActiveDocument.Comments(nr).Range), but then the user needs to press the msgbox and they will pretty shure get tired of that after a short time. So... I have made this code, where I find the bookmark in the actual formfield (ex. Komm_2 where 2 is the indexnummer of the comment). The code will run when entering the formfield. I can create a dialog box where the user can specify which template, but I don't know how to copy all the styles from that template to the ActiveDocument. When I just record the keystrokes, it does each style individually. And Help shows only how to do it individually. I want to copy all of the styles as a group to the Activedocument. Is this possible? This dialog has a preview of the selected autotext that can show the format of the text, too. In a user form, I would like to make this feature available as well. I put a rich text box (RICHTX32.OCX) on my form in that I would like to load the selected autotext into. In the event that the text in one of the unprotected sections is accidently deleted, I've written a macro to replace the text and tag it with some required character and paragraph styles. Here's the catch: when I execute the macro, I get a Runtime error 4605 - "This method or property is not available because the object refers to a protected area of the document." Yet, when I set a breakpoint on and step through the "Selection.Style = ActiveDocument.Styles" line, it all works as expected.     - Word VBA Problem Hello I've been maintaining a set of Word VBA macros for a few years at the office, and have a routine which prints the current document to a pre-set printer and tray(s). The pre-sets have been saved in the Registry, so the routine pulls these out and uses them to reset the ActivePrinter, print the document and then reset the ActivePrinter from saved data. This works fine for Word 97 (on Win 98 & 2000) and Word 2000 (Win2000 & XP). Word 2002 (Win XP) crashes completely (not just a VBA error, but Word itself) when it reaches the line which alters the DefaultTray to the saved setting. I have pasted the essential elements of the routine below. I'm hoping someone will be able to tell me why this is happening with the "new and improved" Word, when the old versions work quite happily with it. Any help is greatly appreciated. I am in the process of designing a solution for the following requirement: We need to allow users to create a "template" in word (not necessary a word template, but a word document that will be used to create other word documents via parsing). The template will be dynamically populated with data from the active document in our application which is running in another process. The solution must work on PC and Mac. On Windows, the obvious route is to use COM to pull data from our app into VBA and then push it into the template. My question is this: is there any equivalent to that using VBA in Mac Office v.x? Does Apple Script provide the same capability as COM does on windows? I'm pretty new to Mac development, so pardon my ignorance. Other solutions we are considering are using RTF and writing our own parser/template engine...not sure which would be easier. Any feedback would be extrement appreciated.     - DocumentOpen event does not run We use a DocumentOpen event procedure to carry out a set of checks/actions whenever a document is opened. This works fine, as a rule. But if in a Word session any other procedure is stopped for whatever reason (this seems to be one of the reasons we 'lose' it but there may be others), after that the event procedure does not kick in until Word is restarted, unless the application object is re-initialised. But no error/message is displayed to hint that anything gone wrong. Can duplicate the 'error' by stepping through and stopping any procedure. After doing so the event procedure doesn't run. Is there a way to stop this happening, or to automatically re-initialise the application object if it does? Any help appreciated. The problem is sometimes Word does not open in the foreground, I need to manually select it in the task bar to bring it to the front. How can I bring the active window in Word to the foreground (using VBA). I've tried using the Activate method on the document's window but it only makes it the active window in Word, it does not bring it to the foreground. I've looked at the SetWindowPos API call but I need to pass it the hwnd of the active window, something which to my knowledge VBA does not provide for. I am using Word 2000/2002 on Windows 2000.
