 - Convert to one line address. Hi, I would like to write a macro to convert the following address to only one line, so I can import in to the Excel easily. Examples : AAA XXXX STORES LTD. 1370 SONY PLACE Sanigo, CANADA R3C 3C3 TO AAA XXXX STORES LTD, 1370 SONY PLACE Sanigo, CANADA R3C 3C3 Some of the address have 5 or 6 rows and also the empty line between each address.  - Can no longer access module code..? Ive created several procedures within a "Utils" module in my Normal.Dot, working fine. Got button on toolbars etc, suddenly last week when trying to open & edit the code got the message "Project unviewable" & "Project Locked". I have not locked the project, the toolbar button still work, and I can call the Subs from other procedures in other Docs, but can't access my original code..? does anybody have any suggestions, rather then re-writing the procedures again from scratch...?  - Word Macro I need a macro that handle menu events in the MS word document. Is it possible to handle menu events in word.  - Template Page Setup Problem ? I have created a simple business letter template. I have put a letterhead into a header of page 1. My problem is I would like to have the letterhead only appear on the 1st page. I tried a section break (to have no letterhead in the next section) .... but when I type in the text of a letter, it pushes the section break down and I end up with the letterhead appearing on page 2, etc. Any Ideas would be Greatly Appreciated.  - MS-Word opening documents as Read-Only at random Hi, MS-Word seems to be opening a word document as read-only even though the document itself is not read-only. It does this randomly, not all the time. This is annoying as when it does open the document as read-only, after making the changes to the document, the document would then have to be saved under a different name.  - Mail Merge Formatting I am attempting to run a mail merge to a form letter from an Access query and it is working perfectly except for one problem: The numbers that are merged into the form letter come up as decimalized numbers and not formatted numbers like in the query. I have tried removing the "MAILMERGE" and replaced it with "REF" like one help hint told me to do, but that has not helped. Does anyone know how to make sure the formatted (currency, percentage) numbers transfer to the form letter exactly as they appear in the query and database? Thank you for your help!  - Resizing Columns Hi. Over the last month I've been trying to automate a process whereby: 1. Data in an Oracle database is imported into Word2000 in a table format (currently 4 columns x 800-odd rows). 2. The text is reformatted. 3. The resultant columns are resized to fit specific widths. So far, I've worked out 1. and 2. but cannot get the table to resize UNLESS I remove the text first. I've tried resizing the columns, table and cell. I've tried Dave Rados MVP solutions but they do not work in this situation. For some reason, the imported tables WILL NOT resize while there is text in the cells.  - WORD 97 Registry Error I am trying to open a Word Document from VB6 by simply using createobject(word.application). Everything works in Word 2000 and up. But with Word 97, I get below message: The Windows registry has reported that one or more required files are damaged or missing. To correct this problem, run the Word Setup program. Any ideas?  - About Making Resumes with Word.... Hi all, i have relatively stupid, yet frustrating problem. I am constructing a resume with Word. I have chosen the catagories i would like the resume to contain. When i got down to WORK EXPERIENCE in the actual resume, i entered in the most recent with no problem. However, i very much wanted to add my job in there, buti can't figur eout how to duplicate the Work Experience template so it contains the 'Date attended', 'company name', 'city/state' etc. in a predetermined table alignment like the original. if anyone can help it would be massively appreciated.  - Embedding Word Document within Excel I would like to write a VBA procedure within Excel that will allow me to embed/insert (not link) a Word document (i.e. C:\My Documents\Test.doc) into the Excel worksheet. The Excel worksheet would then allow me to click on the embedded/inserted object for my perusal of the Test.doc document. Any ideas? If that's possible, is there a way for me to specify several Word documents to embed/insert (i.e. wild character searches, etc) into an Excel file and have all of them embedded/inserted? I last used it a couple of months ago with Word 2000 under Windows 2000, and it worked correctly. I am now running on a Windows XP machine with Word XP, and it doesn't work. Another manifestation is that the code sometimes finds that Me.explorerObject.Document.body.all.length has a value greater than 0 before loading is complete, and if the program proceeds, any reference to a tag in the body will return Nothing.  - Colour of Word XML elements Is anyone able to tell me why the image used to mark XML elements in Word changes from a grey fill to a purple fill? The grey one has the name of the element in both the opening and closing tags, while the purple has a shortened closing tag containing no text. It seems to be that when an element is first inserted into a Word doc., it is in the 'grey mode', but as soon as you type text immediately after the element, it goes to 'purple mode' which doesn't allow carriage returns within the element.  - Menu bar non-existent Hello- Since installing Office 2000, Word is basically in almost a 'read only' environment. There is no Menu bar (File, Edit, format, etc) and there is no Tool bar. The problem is that I usually have several Word documents open at once, and the user form will be displayed in all of them. If I want to do something in a different document, I have to close the user form, go to the other document and do whatever I need to do, then come back and load the user form again.  - MailMerge problem in XP I have a VBA procedure in Access which opens up Word and creates a mail merge based on a dynamicly created SQL statement. It works in Word 2000 but not in XP. In XP I get a 'data source could not be opened' error. It connects via OLEDB.  - Custom Tool Bar Cannot be Created Is there a special Word '.exe' or '.dll' file that my system could now be missing that (when present) allows creation of Custom Tool Bars. After many hours of trying to narrow down a freezing problem in Word (of very recent origin) I discovered that none of my .dot files containing my extensive VBA coding AND a custom tool bar will load.  - Reenabling template macros I have the following problem with an addin i've designed with one VB Dll and two template files. My dll builds the main commandbar in the OnConnection routine, and the first template file checks the current selection to see if another toolbar is going to be needed to be built alongside the main one (a context sensitive toolbar). If so, it loads a second template file that overrides a lot of commands/builds toolbars/calls into the dll. The only time this is all failing is when the first instance of word that is opened (that calls the OnConnection) is within an OLE container. I don't care if the templates work in this contained document (toolbars aren't even enabled so it doesn't matter). However, any subsequent document that is opened alongside this OLE container do not work correctly. These are my assumptions: 1) No other Word instances open 2) Open a Word (2000/xp/2003) document within Internet Explorer or Open Outlook and create new email message (uses Word in backend) 3) Templates (macros) are disabled in this protected ? state of operation 4) Navigate to another .doc on your hd. Double-click to open it. 5) Templates are still disabled and therefore my addin is not able to do anything (ie. load the other template) My main question: Is there a way to re-enable the ability to run templates and macros if the inital instance of Word is opened within a container, AND you are in some other document that has been opened along side this initial instance? I dont care about being able to do this within the container, I just want them to be able to run Outlook along side of my prog without mysteriously dissappearing toolbars.  - Line below table I am still getting the hang of working with inserting variables into the document. I am in Word97 where their is no InsertRowAbove / InsertRowBelow. So to add some rows to the bottom of the table I need to first set the range to the line below the bottom of the table then do my insert, I am using autotext to insert 4 rows that are preformatted. The short answer is, find the missing file and restore it. Reinstalling Word
is probably the easiest way to do that.
