    - How to build the search string to find numbers from 75 to 99? Hi, I do not know if this is the right group to post this message. I needed to search for the numbers between 75 and 99. I built 2 search strings using wildcards (I am not using VBScript regular expressions). One for numbers from 75 to 79, and the second for the numbers from 80 to 99. It works fine. Anyway, I wonder if it is possible to build one search string that would find numbers between 75 and 99 using wildcards. Thank you very much.     - Word Addin Hello All, I am making a Word Add-in in VB.NET. I am willing to have my own Menu Item in the Menu Bar like File, Edit, Etc and under my Menu item i will be having some more items as File->New, Edit->Copy, etc. Now i am getting 2 problems: 1/ When I run the program for 1 document things are fine but when i open more than 1 document simultaneously than I did not get that menu working (menu is shown but its not functioning) in other documents than the 1st document. I have solved this problem by creating the menu item at AppObj_WindowActivate function but this function is called whenever the document is activated even i minimize or maximize the document. 2/ When I uninstall the package that I install then the Menu Item is not removed. Its functionality are removed but with that the menu item should also be deleted which is not deleted. So i have to manually remove it so that it is not visible later on.     - Adding CommandBarControls in VBA with Word Hi All I'm automating showing the "Mail Merge" menu and if it is nor visible then adding the "Insert Merge Field" pop up. I have mastered showing the command bar but I am having problems with getting the pop up to work. I've added the pop up but there ar no fields in the list.     - y a part of data stored into previous ActiveX control loses if i insert new ActiveX hi! i have written an activex control for word that stores some binary data. now when after placing my control into word doc i store binary data (varry between 25KB to 10MB). control persists it. when i close it and reopen the document it is there. but when i place another control and store data into it, the data stored into the first control is truncated, not the whole data but only few KBs.     - Embedded word tables in Powerpoint Hi there, I have a macro that copies embedded word tables in PPT to a WORD document, but with large PPT files I get a Word error "Insufficient Memory or Disk space.     - Can I automate dropping access tables into a word template? We have a word template we use for generating monthly reports. Much of the data for these reports resides in Access databases. Presently we run a query in access and paste the results into the word document. If the queries are standard is it possible to set up the word template to place the query results in the appropriate place each time a doc is created from the template? I've only done a few lines of VB in word (but lots of it in other apps), but if there's a way to do it and someone can point me in the right direction, that would be great!     - GetAddress differences I have a small template which creates a customized envelope (special return address w/ logo) and Bar Coding. The template uses the GetAddress function to lookup names in one of two Contact lists of Outlook. The template used to work fine until my hard-drive crashed and I had to rebuild using a new version of Windows (XP-Pro). I reinstalled Office 2000 and was able to recover all of my templates. I am having two problems now: 1) The Select Name dialog box does not sort/display the names by {Last Name}, {First Name} (it is sorting/displaying by {First Name} {Last Name}. 2) It no longer uses the "default" mailing address as the PR_STREET_ADDRESS field even though it is selected in Outlook. It only uses the Business Address (this never happened before). Iâ??ve tried looking at a bunch of options in Outlook but Iâ??m not sure why it worked before.     - Help getting size box on pasted-in tables? I generate a lot of tables in Excel and paste them into Word (using Excel and Word 2000). I've gone through several methods of trying to do this, most driven by the size and functionality of the table after it's pasted in. I can paste in an Excel table, and it becomes a Word table, but often the size is way too big. I've been doing this for years, and I have just now discovered the little sizing box in the lower right corner of a table!! This could be great - except for one thing. When I paste in a table that overflows the right margin, I can't get to the sizing box! Greg instructed me on the macro and it worked great. The problem I am having is that the document has form fields in it, and when the document form field are protected and the macro is run I get an error with no text.     - Syntax doubt - Find and Replace Hi, Some time back I had a requirement where I had to REPLACE some text in EACH PAGE of the MAIN STORY IN MS Word. The text was of the form -- Page 83 -- or -- Page 62-- and so on and the replacement text was the related to the actual word page number. The below macro I got from NG for this purpose works great. Only change is that previously I had to find and replace text with 2 digit numbers following "Page ". But now I want to be able to replace 3 digit numbers also. I have tried changing the syntax -- .Text = "Page [0-9]{1,2}" -- to -- .Text = "Page [0-9]{1,2,3}" -- thinking that this would extend the search to one more character, but Im getting -- Runtime error '5560': The find what text contains a pattern match expression which is not valid.-- and the above error occurs at the -- .Execute Replace:=wdReplaceAll--. Strangely if I change it to .Text = "Page [0-9]{3}" -- then am able to get it working (that is am able to search for -- Page 768 -- and replace it with the desired text). Why is it that .Text = "Page [0-9]{1,2}" works well for finding -- Page 83 -- or -- Page 62-- but .Text = "Page [0-9]{1,2,3}" -- gives syntax error.     - How do I create text that if you type within it it will be repaced Hi guys, I'm trying to create a word docment with a series of "blank" areas in it.     - AutoText fields inserting as static text Program: Word 2003 Not sure how to describe this correctly, but when one of our users inserts an AutoText entry that contains a field code, such as Filename and Path or a date field, Word is inserting the *text* of the code, i.e. _ FILENAME \p _ (except there are boxes instead of "_"). I've made sure the user's language is set to English, but I'm not sure where else to begin with this problem. It's as though Word is not inserting the brackets enclosing the code, or it's automatically unlinking the field. Where the brackets should be enclosing the code, there are the boxes Word usually inserts for characters not included in a font set. So the code for pathnames and dates are inserted but not a working field code. Where the pathname should be, you just see the pathname code text in the document and that's how it prints (even when unchecking any options that cause the field code to print or be viewed in the document). I'm at a loss and am hoping for a resolution other than reinstallation. OTOH, the user *can* insert both the date field and pathname via Insert -> Field. I wondered why my macro kept throwing an error: it adds a text box and then
does a Paste Special inside it. Or it did, until a few weeks ago. I
thought I was messing up with the manual Copy beforehand or something. Then
I manually drew a text box and went to the Edit menu - and Paste Special was
grayed out??!? Outside the text box, the Paste Special works fine, and it
*used* to work inside the box as well! (Word 2000)

Did I accidentally check or uncheck something? Where do I start looking to
resolve this?

Dunno, works for me. Could it be there's nothing on the clipboard (so
there'd be nothing to paste)?
