It cannot be done with Word tables. However if you want to replicate the
Excel behaviour, insert an Excel spreadsheet into the document rather than
use a Word table.
I think however you should really think a bit more about how the template
should be used. Are their other fields into which users other than the one
user must enter data? In what order do the other users and the one user get
to have their go at the template.
