    - find and copy all highlights of a particular color Hi all. I'm working with a long document in which "glossary" words have all been highlighted bright green. I would like to copy all of these words into a separate document so that I can create the glossary. I'm sure that Word has built-in features that would be a better choice for this task, but I have to remain within this particular scheme, so I'm just trying to make my job a little easier. I have an old WordBasic macro that finds all the occurences of a particular text string and appends them into a text document, one by one, but I can't quite figure out how to do the same in VBA and then modify the search, and I don't think WordBasic supports a search for a particular highlight color.     - Word 2003 XML documents as plain text (unicode) I write a macro to manipulate some tags in XML documents. In previous versions of MS Word it wasn't a problem to insert XML-documents automatically in plain text format. How can I either set the MS-Word defaults in order not to have XML documents opened as XML documents or alter the following code to have the files inserted as plain text (unicode) files?     - Copy Textbox contents to clipboard Dear all, I do a lot of repetitive typing at work. I have a list of templates which I want handy around. I am thinking of having a word document with textboxes which are holding my different templates. I am hoping to have a button beside each textbox so that when I click it, it will automatically copy the textbox's contents to the clipboard.     - Word 2003 Custom Fields Hi I have created a template with headers & footers for page 2 onwards. The template however is a one page template, the headers and footers present themselves as they should, in the event of a second page being required. The problem I am having is that the header for page 2 onwards holds a custom field. When page 2 is automatically created by typing lots of text the custom field does not update. The only way to update the field is to print it, F9 it or print preview.     - Move top-left corner of document into view When I open a document containing a table I do some editing (using VBA) in a cell off the screen. This causes the document to visually move to the right to bring the cell onto the screen. Afterwards, I need the top left section of the document redisplayed on my screen. At the moment, I'm using a workaround to achieve this - I select cell(1, 1) which is the top left of the document, insert a period (ie ".") and then delete the period. But, how do I move the top left corner of the document into view without doing any editing? It would be much safer for any text already there.     - Creating a module-wide variable Sorry if I'm not using the terminology correctly. I already have several module-wide variables (created by Dim statements) which enable information returned in one macro to be used in another macro--a neat capability. But these variables only seem to work because there already happens to be some public declarations at the top of the module, like this: Public Declare Sub Sleep Lib "kernel32" _ (ByVal dwMilliseconds As Long) These public declarations have nothing to do with the Dim statements, yet they enable them to work. I want to learn how to set up a module-wide variable if there is not already a Public declaration.     - What is NoList Style? I was working with a macro that Klaus Linke posted the other day to remove unused styles. Klaus explains that Normal, DefaultParagraph, and Heading1-9 sytles are built in and can't be removed. I have Word2003 and in my Normal.dot there are two other styles that can't be removed: NormalTable and NoList. I added a line to Klaus' code to handle the NormalTable (skip it), but when I tried to add a constant for the NoList style I could't fine one. I use wdStyleNormalTable for the normal table, I looked through all of the wdStyle constants and couldn't find one for NoList. I didn't try each one as none looked promising. I would like to add a line in the below code similiar to the Case statements for NormalTable and the other builtin styles. Can anyone suggest what I should use? Thanks.     - Restoring the ability to Tab between fields instead of using Enter I have created a form in Word 2003 and used the macros described in the Microsoft article number 211219 to allow the Enter key to navigate between the form fields instead of inserting a new paragraph. I now want to change this behavior back, however for every new template or document based on a template I create, the Enter key moves between the form fields. I have deleted the macros described above; I have performed a "reset all" in the customize keyboard form under tools â?? customize, I have ran a macro to using keybindings.clearall, I have started Word using the /a switch, I have removed everything from the Word startup directory, and I have deleted the Normal.dot file and let Word create a fresh copy.     - Identifying table ranges I have a Word document with two columns. I inserted a table to span both columns but had to force a column break to balance the data.     - Drop down list choices print but don't appear on email or fax Hi, I'm making a form in word 2003 to be used by our doctors to send a stat fax/email in conjuction with outlook 2003. I am almost there...but I need a little help. I have created a form with a drop down with items in the drop down list such as HEAD CT, ABDOMINAL CT, PELVIC CT. When I lock the form these appear as choices and they can be selected. It works great and if I print the page I see the choices that were made. That is perfect...but, when I actually send or fax the report, that field ends up blank. Can i have the text of the chosen drop down appear on the email/fax once it is sent? That is, if on the pull down I select HEAD CT, I want that to appear as text. Do I have to run a macro on entry or exit that types the actual word "head ct"? If so, how do I create that macro?     - mosBarBottom: Documented bahavior or a bug? Usually, when I create a toolbar, I do include the Position property in the Add method. However, for msoBarBottom, I find unusual bahavior if I do not specify the Position property until later in the code. Using Word 2003, with msoBottom in the Add method, I get the expected behavior, i.e., the toolbar is created below all other toolbars. on a separate row. However, if I use the Add method without the Position property and later use the Postion property with msoBarBottom, the toolbar does not get placed at the bottom, instead, I've seen the following two cases: 1. The toolbar is intermingled with the toolbars in the last row of the toolbars, and not all the toolbar buttons are visible. 2. The toolbar is intermingled with the toolbars in the last row of the toolbars, and all the toolbar buttons are visible. I would have expected the use of Position with msoBarBottom to have caused the toobar to be in a new last row. Why all the buttons show sometimes, but not others, makes no sense, as nothing else has changed.     - Can I disable the prompt to save a document I am trying to record a simple macro that will select all, copy and close the document. I will then paste the clipboard onto another program. The problem I am having is that prompt that asks me "Do you want to save the changes you have made..."     - problem with COM add-in Hi, I have created a COM add-in for Word 2003 that also creates a commandbar/commandbutton when the add-in is loaded in IDTExtensibilty2_OnConnection. I then delete and set the commandbar/commandbutton to Nothing in IDTExtensibilty2_OnBeginShutdown. However, when I reopen Word, I now have two commandbar/commandbuttons. Particularly, I find their TOCs and Indices easier to use (I've used Word extensively (97, 2000, XP, and 2003) for years as a technical writer, grad student, and now teacher).     - BuiltIn Doc Property - wdPropertyTimeLastSaved - does not update Hi All I want to use code prove that a document has been saved, or otherwise. Before saving the document (using ActiveDocument.Save) I use a message box to display the date/time the document was last saved i.e. the value of wdPropertyTimeLastSaved). I then save and display another message box with the new value for wdPropertyTimeLastSaved. The problem is that it the value doesn't appear to update the seconds field so, if I save the document at an interval of less than one minute, the two values are the same. Is there a way around this?     - How do I get page count from a Word document object? I have a VB.NET application that manages .PRN documents created from Word documents. I want to expand the app to include the ability to transition the .DOCs into .PRN, one .PRN for every page in the .DOC. Everything works just the way it should now, as long as I know how many pages are in the .DOC up front. But the ideal situation would be if I can get the number of pages from the just-opened Word document object.     - InsertSymbol inserts symbol as formated text the first time Hi, I have a problem with InsertSymbol that I have seen nowhere else. I need to insert a character from a symbol font and want it to have symbol behaviour, i.e. if I mark a range containing the character afterwards and select another font, the symbol character won't change. This might sound simple and I thought it was, but generally it doesn't work the first few times...     - big mess!!help! I am in a real big mess. I just spent 4 days on a huge macro and I accidentally gave two textboxes the same name. When I ran the macro, I got a "DUplicate ~" error. I couldn't open the form and I saved the template and quit word. Now, when I try to open any macro from that template, word simply quits (the usual tell MS about this problem) box. customers once they have completed their job. However i need the customer to
input a signature and for it to show on the worksheet template that has been
filled in with the work carried out.
I have a signature pad for customers to use but i dont know how to link it
to the word template?
Can anyone help please?
