All,

I would like to create a .dot file containing a toolbar and
associated
macro. Currently, I am adding the macro and toolbar manually to the
Normal.dot file. Then I save and rename a copy of the normal.dot
file.

Is there a way to create this file without the extra baggage of my
normal.dot file?

Thanks

With your template open. View>Toolbars>Customize. Toolbars tab>New. In
the new toolbar diaglog. Select your template in the "Make toolbar
available to" dropdown.

Thanks for the ideas.

I am not sure if I fully understand what you are saying.

I don't have a template file (.dot). I want to create one. But in
order to do this I have to start with Normal.dot. I don't want do
that if I can help it. I don't want any other Normal.dot
customizations to be a part of this new .dot file.

Does that make sense? Or do I not understand how this works?

Thanks

"But in order to do this I have to start with Normal.dot. " No you don't!

Start a new document.
Save it as a template. File > SaveAs and change the type to template .DOT.

Now you have created a NEW template. Do whatever you want with it.
