    - "compare documents" opens a new document? Why? I am new to Office 2004 and I find it disappointing that the TOOLS command "compare documents" opens a new document. I liked what I recall in former Word versions- selecting one document to compare with another highlights the changes in the existing document.     - Dynamic Array - Combo Box I am creating a user form with combo selection boxes. One of my combo boxes has a selection that is greater than the 25 items so I created a dynamic array with using VB for the info lookup. So when the using goes to this combo box it opens up a VB userform that has 3 combo boxes on it. The array has 4 columns (column 1 = index number, column 2 = Port, column 3 = Crossing, column 4 = Terminal) and 650 rows. I have it set up so when I select the Port "Atlanta" it shows in the next combo box only the crossings associated with "Atlanta" say "Charleston" and then the third Combo box only shows the terminals assoicated with "Charleston". Each combo box shows the appropriate associated info, but my problem is that it also shows blank lines where other info would normally be in the array. Is there a way to say not to show those blank lines? Or should I set up my array differently?     - Replace exisiting image programatically. Our current letter template has our logo defined in a specific position in the document header. The logo is an image file (let's say .gif) that has been placed on the template. My PR department has requested that we allow users to choose the colour of the logo that will appear on their documents. I can easily give the users a dialog to pick the correct colour .gif of the logo, what I cannot work out is how to place that image in the position of the exisiting logo. The options that I can see are: 1) Replace the exisiting .gif logo with my choice 2) Replace the image in the template with a bookmark 3) Replace the image with a Text Box and insert into that. 4) Have a different colour template for each logo.     - Dropdowns In Word document OK. Need some help here. We have created Word templates that we use VBA Macro to merge (mail merge) data from a text file (we actually are pulling it out of a database which creates a dump of the record in a text file). In the document, there are also variables we want the end user to choose. So, we have set up dropdowns in the Template. The problem is, to be able to use the dropdowns, we have to protect the document. Once we protect the document, we error out on the merge. Have tried protecting only a section of hte document where we do not merge any data into but it still errors out. Any one have any ideas? I am not opposed to creating and adding dropdowns via the VBA but I am not knowledgable in the VBA (these docs/this process were inherited from another person). Thoughts????? Links don't work with a protect file apparently, so I need to write a macro to unprotect the doc, send it as am email attachment, and protect it again. The protection is no problem. Neither is opening an email dialog with the file as an attachment. But the file name is the subject line, and I can't find a way to set the subject line and pre-fill the Recipient email address.     - how to programatically add Word Menus due to Adobe Acrobat addin i Hi, I have a collection of templates that include menus. There is one main menu in a global/startup template. And some other templates for letters, faxes, etc. that also contain menus. TYPICALLY they work just fine. But I'm at a company that has the Adobe Acrobat addin and it is sometimes WIPING OUT the menus I've put in my templates, other times causing duplicate menus to appear (I've read this is due to their addin copying the menu to the Normal.dot) I've been told that if I use VBA to create the menus Adobe won't destroy them. Can anyone please tell me: 1. How can I add a menu to a global template so it loads with Word, but doesn't keep appending a NEW copy each time I open Word. 2. How can I use VBA to create a menu that loads each time someone opens a document based on a certain template, and goes away when they close that document? OR, it anyone has dealt with this adobe addin issue, and knows a different solution, I'd love to know. They will not remove the addin but insist my menus work... Also -- this client has Interwoven Document Management so all the document events like "file close" are controlled by them though I think i can tap into their event handlers if I need to to take down the menu. When I go to print the form field is blank. I went to test where the form field went blank after having the correct number in it. When the user selects one of the instances, we use Task.Activate() to give focus to the open Excel window. This works fine, except in the case of one system (IBM T43 Thinkpad, WinXP SP2, Word 2003 SP1), where for one instance of Excel open, there are 16 tasks reported by Word.     - Word Macros Hi there, I have problems recording a macro in Ms Word 2002. The changing of the fonts and font size doesn't work. I backed up all my word files to cd before I switched over only to find that when I try to open the files using word I get a message saying that I should check the spelling of the name of the document or try a different file name. Not every Form Field is populated depending if there is data for it in my Excel Worksheet. One field is repeated in the form, so I set up a Cross Reference field to my other bookmark in the document. I have been trying to record a macro but I have met with little success other than making a new pages, I somhow get portions of the page copied. Not sure if records some of the hitkeys I am using.     - Changing datasource file I would like to programmatically change the path to a datasource for a .doc used for mailmerge. These files are sent to me and the path used for the datasource does not exist on my network. The problem is that when I load the .doc file, it cannot find the datasource path and prompts me, interrupting the program. Anyone know if there is a way to stop the prompt? i have a custom toolbar for Word 2002-2003. how do i get that toolbar to
show up on the ribbon in MS Word 2007? is there a change i can make to my
template that will do this automatically?

I have tried to add the buttons thru the QAT, but, my commands do not show
up? ACK!! any suggestions?

Custom toolbars show up in the Add-ins tab of the Ribbon.
