    - No Class or High Class For the most part, Class modules are still a mystery to me. What little knowledge I have of them was imparted by Jezebel when I was working on a project to list, count and sort spelling errors. Earlier today and OP wanted to simply list all spelling errors contained in a document in a separate document. I thought of my earlier project and passed on the link. I then started thinking about a simpler code to do exactly what the OP requested "and" prevent duplicates.     - Check box group Hi On a Word Template I have created 3 Checkbox "Not Check box Form Fields" and all these three Checkbox have an identical Groupname of Gr. Problem is when I try to create a document out of this template I can check mark all 3 check box at the same time... Isn't this supposed to be exculisve of each other. I mean I should only be able to check mark one of them and by check marking one the other two should be unchecked...     - Copy Paste Table Problems! I have figured out a way to copy paste a table (with fieldforms). I have a macro button in my doc. which when I press copies the table in the doc. and pastes it.     - How doc properties created in one file be available in all docs I need to insert fields in a word document. All required doc properties was created in File>Properties>Custom. This was inserted into the document using Insert>Field option. Now i need this set of doc properties to be available in all the files that i edit or create new.     - error handler Further to problems with getting a form compiled in Word 2003 to behave properly with older versions, how can I stop my form getting closed by the error ? It's only one button on my form that calls the bound routine so another button immediately after with a hyperlink to the file can be a way to open the worksheet and do what's necessary manually. But the error closes the form so the user loses what (s)he's already filled in and doesn't get the chance to carry on.     - Getting round the binding / different versions problem There seem to be quite a few posts about trying to get Word and Excel to work together when the original files have been compiled in Office 2003 and users have an older version. I have the same problem. I'm sending from a Word form to Excel and getting other data back from the same worksheet. If I remove references to the Excel library I get errors (on other PCs) because bits of the code aren't recognised by that version of Excel. I thought a solution could be simply to have the Excel part of the code as a macro in that sheet. All Word has to do is open the sheet and say 'Application.Run "macro"' but that doesn't work either. The shortcuts open the folder in My Documents in Windows Explorer that hold the files and folders I frequently use. Very handy!!     - Hard return to activate "dead" hyperlink in Word... Hello. Here's my dilemma. Hope someone out there can help. I'm taking data from one program and pasting into Word (with this other program, there's really no export function, so cutting and pasting is the only way I can do this). The problem is that when I paste the information into Word, all of the hyperlinks are "dead" (that is, when you try to Ctrl+click the link, it does nothing). Of course, I can manually enter a hard return at the end of the hyperlink to activate it, but I have a TON of links and don't really want to spend time doing this. I've tried creating a macro to do this, and it does everything it should need to do to re-activate the hyperlink, but it's not. I'm actually in the VBA window, stepping through the script. I see it locate the letters "http" and move to the end of the link, then I see what looks to me like a Return/Enter, but the link never "activates." Here's the VBA code. Anyone know how I can generate a hard return that will activate a hyperlink?     - Conditionally Compile for Word 2007? Hi, I've got a template that features in menu in earlier versions of Word, and when it runs in Word 2007, I want it to use a tab on the ribbon instead. I've got the tab working, and I know how to dynamically determine (from Application.Version) if I'm running in Word 2007, so I can make it work. BUT: the module that works with the ribbon includes some declarations (such as iRibbonControl) that are not available in earlier versions of Word. So I don't think this code will work with earlier versions. What's the best way to handle this? Is there a way to conditionally compile the code? I know i can conditionally compile for a Macintosh by including #if Mac Then 'this code only included on mac versions #Else 'this code only include on PC versions #End If but I don't know how to set up a condition like that "Mac" condition that's built into VBA. The only other way i can think to do this is to declare the iRibbonControl parameters in my ribbon callbacks as variants. I assume that would work, tho it makes the code a bit tougher to understand.     - File Placement/SharePoint Hiya A few months ago I created a wizard which allows users to generate a sales proposal by picking the required sections (lots of products, lots of services, different T&C's etc.), the code then finds the requested sections and creates a large file containing them all in the chosen order. This works fine. The issue is, all of our documents are soon to be placed on sharepoint, I don't really know a great deal about sharepoint, will I be able to update my code easily enough to look for the docs on sharepoint insted of in network folders?     - Please advise on the production of a frontend, to view selected record(s) of a completed worksheet I have created an excel worksheet containing details of building surveys - each survey on a different row. The columns list the locations and provide records which detail whether the site has been visited, the survey checked and provides comments on the non-completion of any construction work. In addition, two of the columns list hyperlinks to a jpeg photograph of the site and to an external survey report (also in excel format). The columns are headed as follows: Location Address City Council Visited by Checked Comments Photo Files Reports I have done some preliminary research and have found various userforms which allow users to input information into worksheets. My database is for viewing information only, as all the data has already been entered. I need a frontend which allows the user to filter to the site (possibly using a cascading combobox to select location then site) and then select okay, to view the results. I would like excel to then display the details of the selected suvey as per the list above, including the photograph and external survey report.     - image getting rotated on some printers I am having a problem with an image in my word document getting rotated 180' when it is printed (on some printers.) Otherwise there seems to be no problem - when I do a preview every thing is in order. I am using word 2003 with all the latest patches, Printing to a HP LaserJet 3200 Series (not color) is OK but to a Color LaserJet 2550L image is rotated. Any one experience this? Thanks in advance.     - Getting and setting font size of found text Dear Friends, I'm trying to write a macro that reduces the size of each chunk of text formatted with a specific font to a percentage of the font size of that chunk, i.e. if a certain chunk of text is 18pt Arial it should become 10.5pt Arial (yes I know 18*0.6 = 10.8, but Word apparently rounds down to the nearest half point, which is good enough for me), if another chunk is 12pt Arial it should become 7pt (~7.2) and so on.     - VBA reference problem Hi folks, I have two word template projects. One is loaded globally from the autostart folder you can specify in the word options. This one contains a toolbar button by which the user can add a signature graphic file to the document and some basic methods (like "take the current document, save it and do something with it"). The other is a document template with some form fields and a toolbar button. When pressing the button, the form fields are read and one of the global template's methods is invoked. To be able to cll the global template's method, I need to reference that template. The global template can be found on a network resource, like \\MyServer\Templates. Everything works perfectly fine on my developing machine. When a user now clicks the button on his machine, he gets a compiler error message, that says that the global template project cannot be found. When I check the references, I have an entry like "Missing: ~w????.tmp". Back on my developing machine, the reference now points to the user temp folder and not to the network share anymore. Though, everything still works fine. How do I reference a template from a networkshare correctly? Merging the global template's code to the second template is not an option. There is a third, fourth, ... template as well (all with the same problems).     - Hyperlink modifications I defined a macro that replaces a selected text in a document with a hyperlink. Depending on the marked text I want apply to the hyperlink different properties, such as different color. My question is how can I modify the properties of a hyperlink so that: 1. the hyperlink will be marked with a double line colored with green 2. the hyperlink will appear as it is e.g. capital letters Another problem which I tried to overcome is how to change the address of the hyperlink so it will open a new form.     - Mail Merge With Second Recordset I have to do out a system (in Access) which will output using vba a mail merged word document. However, each letter will need the ability to be customised by the client (I know they will wreck it but thats what they want). Each letter will have the usual MM stuff - names, addresses, dates but half way down through the letter it will show a table containing their account details since the last MM ran.     - page/section break and text boxes I am doing a template for a client which consists of 4 master pages, which are selected via a button on the toolbar. To cut a long story short I've had to use text boxes, but I have now discovered that new page/section doesn't work in text boxes. As the button to insert new page runs a subroutine I can program anything in front of the new page command to get the focus off the text box. The only problem I have is I am not that experienced a programmer to achieve this. How do I get the focus back into the main thread of the document, preferably at the end so that the new page inserts after the current and not before. Any help would be appreciated.     - ActiveX in doc Hi, I have written a "Signature" activex control for MS Word that allows users to sign different ranges of a document and shows crossed out signature box if the text in that range has been altered. I've put a template with a toolbar button for inserting the control into an active document. Both the control and the template (including VBA project in the template) are digitally signed and work well - no macro security warnings - while inserting new signatures to a documents. The problem arises when a user opens the signed document, the unfamous message box "c:\...test.doc contains macros ... may contain viruses..." pops up. The controls in the document will work fine no matter if the user choses to enable or disable the macros. The message box will disappear if I attach digital signature to the project (containing only empty ThisDocument module) in the document, but how can I do it programmatically? I think the message box may disappear if I set the macro security level to High, but changing the company wide policy would break a lot of users' apps. Is there any way to suppress the message box if the macro security level is medium and there is no macros in the document itself, only digitally signed activex controls? Alex.     - problem with DocumentBeforeSave Hi! I am new user to COM objects, so sorry if the questions are easy, I tried googling it, but I didn't find the answer, so I ask you: I am writing an application. I open word document from it, sometimes the document exists, sometimes I want to open new document in word. So far I opened word and I handle DocumentBeforeSave event. I have still got three problems: 1) I would like to only catch Save and SaveAs events, not AutoSave, but from what I noticed DocumentBeforeSave catches all three of them. Can I somehow switch off the autoSave, or tell which one of these events caused the DocumentBeforeSave event? 2) I would like to prevent the document from saving after DocumentBeforeSave event is handled. I tried setting Cancel to true and SaveAsUI to false, but it does not seem to work. I read somewhere, that "Cancel = true;" should be the last operation in handling methos, or that I should call "return;" or "Exit Sub;" in VB to prevent document from saving. 3) While the Word application is opened, my main application is still running. After each save in word, I would like to refresh some components on my main frame. Now it doesn't work, I get exceptions in OnPaint event. I know that Word is opened in new thread, can it be the reason, why refreshing does not work? How can I make it work?     - Word text boxes and new page My client needs a word document that has 4 master pages, which they can choose my clicking on a toolbar icon and run a routine that puts text boxes in the appropriate position.Not being an experienced VBA progammer, I have used text boxes for them to input text, but now discover that I can not insert a new page/section into a text box.     - MAcro to ask for FileSelection I have recorded a macro that inserts a text file into a document and then formats the imported text. My problem is that when the macro is run it always inserts the original file that was selected in the File/Insert/selection dialogue.     - Error with execute method of Find object I have used code like this several times to change the formatting of text on protected forms, but now I seem to be getting errormessages like "command not available" or "method or property is not available because the object refers to a protected area of the document". The bookmark or formfield the selection refers to is the one of the sections of the document that is not protect so the user can enter in their information. How can I get around this problem? Another point it is works for several other bookmarks (formfields) in the document but not others? Why?
