    - Document map zoom n Word 2007, I can zoom the document map by pressing SHIFT-F6 and then using the zoom bar at the bottom of the Word window.     - macro to copy clipboard to autocorrect entry, Word 2003 I type out medical reports on a lot of different patients, some of whom have odd spellings for their names. I have been putting the name for each report into an autocorrect entry. For example, if the patient's name is "Throckmorton," I might assign that to "uu." Then instead of typing "Throckmorton" and maybe forgetting the spelling, I just type "uu." I do this for each report, always using the same autocorrect shortcut "uu." What I would like to do is to be able to highlight or select the name when it first appears and then run a macro which automatically assign it to "uu." I have experimented with the macro recorder by highlighting the name, hitting <ctrl><C>, and then opening up the autocorrect dialog box and substituting the old patient name with the new one, but Word seems to put in the literal. There has to be some way of getting Word to paste the clipboard contents into autocorrect, perhaps via some kind of variable assignment.     - DropDown Field 25 Item Limit I have been meaning to post a Tips page on this subject on my web page for quite a while and so I dusted it off and finished it up today. I departed somewhat from the Microsoft KB Article 19856 suggestion to use a ComboBox and I used a ListBox instead because a formfield dropdown doesn't function like a combobox. The method lets you use one userform and on entry macro for as many textbox fields you want to use as for dropdown entry. It also sets the value in the dropdown to match the current value in the textfield.     - calendar in word I have created a calendar for my form, however it works well in a new document and not in my form. I belive it has something to do wtih the fact that my form has several protected areas - the areaas where the date is to go gives me a VB system error message &H80004005 (-2147467259) Unspecified error. I think this is realted to the areas or sections that are protected although none of the sections where the calendar is to populate is protected. How can I get this to work properly? Unfortunately inserting textboxes seem to have strange effects on the document.     - Help with 'Save' command in VBA Hello, I am trying to create a macro that saves a file after the file has been printed to avoid the prompt which typically appears onscreen which asks the user if they want to save the current open file. As you know, Word will prompt you to save a file that you had already saved if you attempt to close the file after it has been printed. Printing the file seems to store printer data into the file which of course would technically count as a changed file, subsequently prompting the user to save changes. I try to avoid this message prompt with the â??ActiveDocument.Saveâ?? command at the last line of the subroutine below. The problem is that it does not seem to work. I am still prompted to save anyway even when saving after programmatically invoking the print command. Can someone shed some light on this? Thanks!     - Bullets and Numbering disabled in Section? Hi, My name is Anthony, and I'm currently using Windows XP Service Pack 2. I'm also using Word 2003. I created a document with Text form fields in section 1. I created a continuous section break to create section 2, and I also clicked Tools|Protect Document|Check marked, "Allow only this type of editing in the document:"| Chose "Filling in forms" from the pull down menu| Clicked "Select sections"|and unchecked Section 2 regarding Protection. Afterwards, I clicked "Yes, Start Enforcing Protection". Now section 1 is uneditable, and users can only enter fields in the text form fields. I also see Formatting options such as Bullets and Numbering grayed out which I expect. But when I got to section 2, I don't get all the formatting options from the command menu (File|Edit|View|Insert|Format|etc.) which I expected. However, Bullets and Numbering is available from the Standard toolbar and it works fine on Section 2.     - Macros for All users in a lab I have a macro that will automatically change the settings in the envelope wizard for our current setup of printers. the printer with envelops is different than the default printer used in the lab. Anyway, How can i set it up so when a users logs into the computer and uses word, it automatically puts this macro into action? I created a template with the macro in it so it also changes the font automatically but when i put it in the startup folder, the security settings don't allow the macro to run. How can i get around this? I can change security on the computers for macros, but then need to know how to change it for every user on the computer and new users to who sign in as well.     - Script Editor Disabled in particular Word document Word 2003 SP2, Windows XP. I have a user who is able to open Microsoft Script Editor in any but one document. In this document the functionality is not there. She added a button to her toolbar to launch it and you can see that it is dimmed. For instance: there is a checkbox and a drop-down form field. Can the text in a text form field be filled in automatically (from a predescribes set) based on the input of the checkbox and the drop-down field? Lets stay is the checkbox is checked and the drop down says <1000 then the text box displays "A". If the checkbox is checked and the drop-down states 'not interesting', the text field displays "Z". When the Checkbox is unckecked and the drop-down states 'not interesting', the text field displays "10". Or a different example. Thet text field 3 equals the higher number of text1 and text2. i.e. text1=2, text2=10 => text3=10 2. Is it possible to let the form field content depend on input in previous form text fields.     - Sound Recorder OLE I have two solutions possible for a problem. Left clicking on a Sound Recorder OLE linked to a wav file results in the sound clip playing but no way to stop it. Annoying if the clip is long and just a "peek" is needed. If you right click you can chose Edit Sound Object and the Sound Recorder window opens, but you have to click on play to start it. 1) Can the default OLE verb be changed so "2" so the Recorder is opened rather than the sound just being played?     - macro to remove password doesn't work Hi All, I recorded a macro in Word to remove a password in a word file but it doesn't work. The document has a password for editing, however when I open the doc it asks me to type the password. In the macro I open the Options Tab and remove the password then I close the options window and save the file. The password is then empty. However when I close the file and open it again I still have to type the password and when I look at the Option window again the password is back. Is this magic or what?     - Drop downs won't retain entry macros: Drop downs won't retain entry macros: I created a rather large template for our staff to use when filling in information about "xyz"... When they click the first parent drop down the corresponding information populates in the child drop down. Some what like a cascading drop down. My problem is the staff filled out all of the information for the first section of the year on "xyz". It is now the second section and time to reopen the "xyz" file and update the information. When they click the parent drop down that contains the populate vb macro to populate the child drop down the "run macro on entry" is empty. I can go in and choose what macro i want but i would have to do this with over 100 questions. Shouldn't word have retained the macros in the drop downs? every one of them are empty. Therefore when I click the first Parent drop down, the second one is blank unless i go in and select the macro that was originally in that field.     - Resolution 922849 -- older version of word documents Our tech support downloaded the service pack onto one of my coworkers computers. She received the "this file was created in an earlier version of word... cannot be opened due to a registry policy setting" erro. After searching for help on this site I found the link for the resolution -- 922849. But I cannot find the DWORD value the form is reffering to. I found her file under: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Word\Security but there was no FileOpenBlock subkey. Could it be located elsewhere? Is there something else I should be looking for? I would like to resolve the issue for her for EVERY document as opposed to just accepting this particular document.     - Limitation of a form field of 255 Characters Hi!! I am trying to use a macro to fill in a field in a form with a paragraph I copy from an EXCEL cell. The problem is that this paragrph has more than 255 characters so it doesn't seem to work directly. I have seen some article that sugest to use the clipboard as a way to overcome this problem. Microsoft Office Word has stopped working.
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close
the program and notify you if a solution is available.
Does anyone have a solution?
