I would like to suggest that an option presently utilized in Microsoft
Outlook Contacts be designed similarly in Microsoft Word. I continuously
update my address book in Outlook, and I know what a timesaving detail the
right-hand alpha tool bar is.

I would like to recommend that there be a similar toolbar designed in
Microsoft Word, so that there would be greater ease in tracking and
retrieiving Word documents. The scroll bar alone is not effective enough in
file finding. I know first hand because of my administrative duties what an
a wonderful asset it would be to retrieve documents quicker by clicking on
the alpha tab that corresponds to the name of the file that has been created.

HisHandmaiden:

Are you talking about selecting files in, say, the Open dialog box?

In most cases you can skip directly to a group of files by clicking in the
list of folders or files and typing the first one or first few letters of the
name. For example, to skip to the Cs, you just type C.

I am referring to the Open dialog box, and you are correct. However, not
everyone is aware of that particular short cut. My suggestion would be more
user friendly, and one of the things Microsoft is known for is it simplicity
as opposed to other office software which may be too technical for new and
beginner users.

Vote for me! :)
