    - Adding OLE controls to word document while Adding OLE controls to word document , like am using a combobox, the control is always added at the start of the document, rather than at the current cursor position. Am using a commandbar button , which when clicked, loads combobox in that document, but the problem is that that the combobox is added at the start of the document.     - Windows application list Hi Everyone: I am not even sure if this is the correct place to post my question. If not , sorry about this. I am running a windows 2000 machine, and the last time I was updating it, somehow, I ended up with some sort of harmless (but annoying) virus from the MS web site. Basically, every time I run MS Word and I am on the web, my computer runs a program that shifts my Word window around, and clicks on some of the menus, and even clicks on the start button, and opens explorer and a bunc of other software. However, if I never start word, I do not think this program runs. Now I was wondering if in windows 2000, there is a way of knowing what allpication has been run since you turned on the computer. I have looked at event logs, but it does not show the list of run applications. When the virus program runs, I can see the time on my computer, and if I can see a list of the run applications along with the time, then I can delete the virus.     - Finding text raised by some decimal value I am trying to write a macro to find raised text, specifically, I would like to be able to find and replace the text raised by 3.5 points. I wrote a simple macro to simply find the raised text: ' Macro to find text raised by 3 points and it works great With ActiveDocument.Range.Find .ClearFormatting .Font.Position = 3 ' Finds text raised by 3 points .Execute End With However, when I try to find raised text, raised by some decimal value (say) 3.5, the macro simply fails! Apparently, I think that the Font.position parameter is defined as an integer .Execute End With How do I go about this? Is there someway to get it to accept and decimal values as well? I also tried recording a macro after typing "3.5" in word's Find and Replace box. The macro recorded doesn't work either and returns 4 as well. Is this some bug? Thanks for any response.     - Does a paragraph know it is in a table? I have some code that iterates through the paragraphs in the paragraph collection of the ActiveDocument and sets the LeftIndent for the paragraph based on the paragraph above it (actually the TextPosition property of a List item above it). Everything is fine until I hit a paragraph that is actually embedded in a table cell instead of being free standing. The result is that the LeftIndent for the text does get placed where I want it (inside the cell), but the table that it lives inside is still flush left and I'd like to move it over too. This is complicated when there are two columns in this table... my code finds the paragraph in the second column as well and sets its indent relative to the left edge of the 2nd column, which I don't want to do at all. So tables and paragraphs intermingle, but the paragraph collection doesn't seem to know about the tables and the table collection doesn't know about paragraphs. The following VBA script opens Word documents in the directory C:\src, and saves their contents as text files in the directory C:\dest. Unfortunately, the saved text files include Word formatting, which crimps my plan to index the contents with Perl. I would much rather that the files be saved as plain text.     - Supprressing Warning message from Macro I have written a macro in Word VBA using Word 2002. This macro opens an excel spreadsheet then copies some graphs into a Word document. However, because the excel file contains macros, the Word macro halt execution due to a warning message that the file contains macros and ask if I want to continue.     - Digitally signing macros Hi! I've created a couple of macros that I'd like to digitally sign. I just want to issue a certificate myself and use that so the security level can remain at "High". I've used selfcert.exe to create a certificate but when I sign the macro and save my template I get an error: "There was a problem with the digital certificate. The VBA project could not be signed.     - Update only certain fields in template I have a template that has several document variables and text fields in it. There are 2 userforms that allow a user to update the document by dropping the text into the fields and updating them. One of the userforms works great, it updates and all is fine. The other one however clears all text in text fields when it updates. The code is the same for both userforms with the exception of the variable names, so I don't understand why they act differently. Perhaps it would be better if I could be more specific in telling Word what I want to update. Question: is there a way to specify only certain fields be updated?     - office 2000 error message while trying to install I have a copy of msoffice2000 that I'm trying to install on a new computer. the installation dosen't get very far when it gives error1305 missing file F:\PFiles\MSOffice\Office\Bitmaps\Dbwiz\INVENTRY.GIF.     - Running template code after a 3rd party app runs We have a 3rd party app that uses Word as its report writer. I would like to run additional code from within the template after the app is done and has filled-in all bookmarks. If I put my code in an AutoNew procedure in the template, it executes before the other app is done. I can force it to run later by putting a delay in the AutoNew and calling the code from another sub (Application.OnTime Now + TimeValue("00:00:05"), "NewProcedure", but I can't always be sure how long the 3rd party app will require.     - Creating a Word Doc from an Access Record Hi all, I need to create a document from an Access record. I don't think I can use a report because there are so many variables. If certain things are checked it will be in the document if it isn't i need the document to shift so there won't be any white space. The problem is I may print [InsuredName] on one line and then at column 130 on the same line I need to print the [CompanyName]. I tried tabbing after [InsuredName] but that won't work bc some letters are wider than others. There is no way to know how many Tabs I'll need after [InsuredName] to get to column 130. I tried using objWord.selection.Information(wdFirstCharacterColumnNumber) but Access didn't recognize the constant wdFirstCharacterColumnNumber. Any help would be very much appreciated!     - View Markup in Template Offspring - How to turn it off? I have searched hi and low and read several threads and articles about Word's newest "feature" (the one that will finally cause me to say FrameMaker is better, BTW). I understand how to turn off markup in my document but I cannot seem to turn it off when someone creates a document based on a template I've created. Here's what I do to the template to make sure it's "clean": -View Markup. -Accept all changes. -Change view from Final showing markup to Final. -Turn off Reviewing toolbar. -Save template. I also have the following option cleared in Tools>Option, Security tab: Make hidden markup visible... I did this to over 30 templates yesterday. Today I created a new document based on one of those templates, and that d#$& markup appeared. I don't want View Markup to automatically come on every time someone creates a new document based on one of my templates. What do I need to do in the template to ensure that this doesn't happen? I meant to press CTRL-Shift-P to open the Format - Font dialog box, but I
must have accidentally pressed CTRL-Shift-Hyphen and then pressed a menu
item. My understanding now is that by so doing, what I did was accidentally
delete that menu item? At any rate, the CTRL-Shift-P shortcut no longer
works. Is there anyway to restore it?

There is a shortcut for this dialog already. Just press Ctrl+D.
