My Word 97 program now takes approx. 2 minutes to open and
approximately another 2 minutes to open a file document.
Originally it took just a few seconds. Once opened
everyting appears to be normal with the exception of
opening any saved file document.

Denise, appreciate your response. I keep a normal.dot
template on a CD just for the reason you mentioned and
have changed out the template several times. I also, went
to Microsoft Outlook, tool section, and did the
recommended procedures as prescribed in another help area.
Everything is still very slow. Thanks again for your
resposne.
