    - Assembly reference issue Hi, I am writing a C# plugin for a third party tool. Multiple versions of the same tool can be installed on the client machine at any given time. Version 6 of this tool is managed code while version 5 is not. The plugin is built on version 6 of the tool. So, when the plugin is installed on a machine that has only version 6 of the tool, it works fine. As expected, it doesnt work if only version 5 is installed. The problem is, it is not working if both version 5 and 6 are installed. How can I tell my plugin to use the file from version 6 of the tool?     - protect variable from spell check? I'd like to protect a patient's name from the spell checker. Patient's name varies from document to document with each patient having a personal single document file. Each patient's name appears multiple times in the document. Adding an ever-increasing number of patients' names to the custom dictionary in an ongoing constantly updating fashion is unreasonable. Is there a reasonable way to preclude spell checker from identifying their names as misspellings? Perhaps I could automate copying the patient's name into one of the document properties and any item in that location would be protected from spell check? Using fields and/or sections protected from spell check seems fraught with multiple difficulties for many MS Word users.     - Need a Command Button in a Word Template Reference Word 2003 I am trying another approach to a template problem I have been working on. I have an online work order form that our voice consultants need to fill out for each customer. The form has a section for customer ID info and the rest of the form has 11 columns where the customer requests is completed. Each line represents one telephone. If the customer has 1 or a 1000 phones, each phone will have a line entry. This is the part where I start to have problems. By the time I get all the customer id info, there is only enough space for 12 line entries. I have created another form (continuation page) to go to if the consultant requires it. I have tried using an on exit macro and it works but I need to have the option of NOT using it. Right now, when you get to the last field, on the last line, it tabs to a field that is labeled Additional Page. Of course, when I come off it, it opens the page as it is suppose to do. But I want to be able to make that a yes I do or no I don't want to open that page. So I figured a command button would be the solution. Click on it to open the Additional Page, otherwise, go tab on by it and go back to the top of the form. I have gone to the control toolbox and inserted a command button but I can't program it and it seems to keep the template from locking down. The padlock icon grays out as soon as you insert the button. I am not a programmer in VB and need help. I hope this all makes sense, it is little hard to explain.     - Cleaning up a document programmatically? I get so much great info from this forum; I thought I'd give this a shot: is there a way to programmatically clean up a poorly formatted document? It 80 pages of normal style, tab-tab-tab-paragraph, manually numbering and has sporadic, incorrect manual TOC markings. I was planning on clearing all manual formatting, using search & replace to get rid of tabs & manual markings and apply numbered styles throughout for the TOC. Is there a better way? I have a nice word 2000 VBA code to get a single simple document, in one unique section, and print it as a book (double faced paper, 2 pages per paper face, page number scheme 4-1, 2-3, 8-5, 6-7). But when the document has more than 1 section, there is a terrible mistake at printing pages. If the document: - 1st section has 4 pages (numbered 1-4) - 2nd section more 10 pages (numbered 1-10) When printing something like "4,1", it result in some pages, equal to section 1 pages 1 to 4, section 2 page 4 (sort of random like :o) What a hell this kind of stupid feature called "section print" (have a look at "help printing sections") !!! It used a For x = Count method to go through and check the range of one paragraph to the the range of every other paragraph and delete any duplicates. It had two If ... End If blocks. The first check the para range length. If = then the second performed a text comparison. I assume the author thought that it would save time by doing a text comparison only on paras of equal length. The procedure worked as advertised, however with a longer document it took a long time. I created about 800 paragraphs and determined that it was actually much quicker to bypass the the first length check and just do a range comparison on every paragraph. Down from 200 seconds to 75 seconds! Next I remembered an method that Jezebel showed me for stepping through items using the .Next (property or method I am never sure which). I adapted the code as follows and the time taken was down to 3 seconds! If you look at your autocorrect settings you'll see that some common
fractions, entered as individual characters (eg '1' + '/' + '2'), will
autocorrect to the corresponding character in the default character set. You
can do the same with any other fractions, if you can find a font that
contains single characters for the fractions you want to use. The standard
unicode set has the thirds and eighths at positions 2153 - 2158.
