    - Is there a Clippy replacement for 2007 I wrote quite a few help systems for my office using what many people have described as 'that annoying Clippy.' As it turns out, he was endearing for the purpose used, and, properly configured in VBA, it allowed tremendous 'go forward' and 'go backward' controls, numbering, bulleting and autosizing features just not found in the standard message box.     - How to hide source document? Hi. I am trying to create form for submission of applications where all used forms are in one document in separate sections. After user open template of this document macro asks him through UserForms what kind of application is he asking for. Then he is asked to fill in the appropriate boxes in UserForms and at the end only filed section is shown. Problem for me is that with filled form also template document stays open.     - Finding and converting text to hyperlink with VBA Greetings from sunny Sweden, I have a macro that converts a SGML-style (custom formatted) plain text file to a word document with proper formatting (headers, styles etc.) but I cannot figure out how to convert the links.     - Set Word Options in VBA for Word 2007 I've created a macro to set Word Options to my needs in Word 2007. It includes most of the properties settings for Options object and some properties settings for Application & Window/View object. It runs VERY SLOW. I stepped through each line of codes and found half of the settings take several seconds to finish. The similar macro I created for Word 97/2000/2002/2003 run very smoothly, took just a second to finish all. I've noticed the message "conneting to printer .." shown on the status bar when the macro run and tried to turn off "Application.ScreenUpdating", no difference.     - deselect command in a macro I have created a macro for users to update all the fill-in fields in my document, but it puts me back in with the "WholeStory" still selected. AND the recorder will not let me click on the document, right click and toggle fields or any other way that I know how to deselect the material. This document is going out to the entire company of about 2000 poeple and I know a LOT of them are not computer savvy enough to do it themselves. I have assigned â??bookmarkâ?? names to these fields and here is how I can use VBA to see what has been entered in the field.     - How to remove italic formatting I'm obviously a bloody beginner in Word. I have some text, some of it formatted in the (italic) character style "Emphasis", some of it with "italic" applied as manual formatting. I want to have all the text formatted "not italic".     - Code for Adding Custom Document Property I have revised an existing template to contain a new custom doc property. Since old documents (not containing the new property) will sometimes be attaching to the template, I need to add code that checks the attached document for the existence of the property & if it's not there, create it.     - Using arrays in a userform I have an Excel file which is a database of names and addresses. It consists of 16 columns of data and 20 rows for each office. In my Word template I have a userform with, among other things, a dropdown list and two command buttons. One button Retrieves the first nine fields in the database and displays these on the form for the user to check the correct details have been selected based on the dropdown list. I have no problems with this part. On retrieval, Fields 10 to 16 are put into an array variant, like this: VarData(0) = rs.Fields(9).Value VarData(1) = rs.Fields(10).Value VarData(2) = rs.Fields(11).Value VarData(3) = rs.Fields(12).Value VarData(4) = rs.Fields(13).Value VarData(5) = rs.Fields(14).Value VarData(6) = rs.Fields(15).Value I have checked and each element of the array is holding its correct information. What I don't know how to do is to pass the data that was in the array under the "Retrieve" button so that it can be put on the paper when I press the "OK" button. Each piece of the array would be concatenated with a vbCr prior to going on the page. Also, if there was no data (Null) in the last field then I would discard it from the operation.     - Splitting a line of text at commas I have an Excel database and my Word template retrieves data from it quite successfully. One of the lines of data it retrieves is an address, each part of it separated by commas e.g: address1, address2, address3, and so on... For historical reasons, the one line address must remain as it is in the Excel database file.     - Word-2003 VBA winword.exe is running under 'processes' but not ope winword.exe is running under 'processes' but not open under application hi, to close the application from VBA i am using the command Application.Quit wdDoNotSaveChanges the application closes, in the application tab of task manager, nothing is there but when i open processes in task manager i can see that the WINWORD.EXE is still running. why winword is still running. it happnes some time not all the time. please suggest how to overcome this problem.     - Endless loop if macro tries to process text in a table cell, otherwise running fine. Below macro which I recently wrote is supposed to COPY all the text that has been placed between brackets TO the end of the document and list them one below the other. It is running fine with one exception. If text between brackets is found in a table cell, the macro falls into an endless loop. In theses cases, it copies the text between the brackets over and over again and won't stop. Hence, how do I have to re-write this code so that text between brackets located in a table cell is also properly copied and put at the end of the document. Help is appreciated. The form also has a combo box for selecting/inserting the number of copies they wish to print.     - Populating & updating Word document from database I am looking for the best solution to meet the needs for a future development project. I think the new Word smart document might be the answer, but I'm not sure of its capabilities. What I need is as follows: My end users frequently create data-intesive proposal documents. The documents are a combination of a standard proposal template of text that they edit/customize for each specific proposal, and inserting data from another application, generally in the form of tables. The data from the application is always grouped together in a set number of tables, say Table A, Table B, and Table C. I would like the end user to be able to open a word document template, choose which tables to insert and where to insert in the document, and be able to modify the formatting of the tables (not the values in the table). Since the end user continues to update the data in the application while developing the proposal in Word, the user needs the ability to automatically update the table values from the application, without overriding any formatting changes that were made to the table. Is this possible? Am I on the right track with smart documents? I am not really a technical person, but am trying to do the initial research on what technology my development staff should use.
