MVP Userform How2 question for Doug Robbins

At the MVP website location:

...Under Step 2, Doug says that after creating a bookmark, "You can then use
a cross reference to the text of the bookmark if you want the same
information to appear in another location."

Several of the items in my userform need to appear in multiple locations
throughout the document, but so far, my experiments with cross references
produce no success. In fact, when I place the cursor in those other locations
and try to insert a cross reference to the original bookmark, nothing gets
inserted. What am I missing?

Place the cursor where you want the cross reference.
Do CTRL-F9 to create a field.
A pair of field brackets will appear {}.
Between the brackets, type: "REF myBookmarkName" replacing myBookmarkName by
the name of the actual bookmark.
With the cursor still inside the brackets, which should now look like: {REF
myBookmarkName}, do SHIFT-F9 to toggle the field code and update the
content.
If nothing appears, it means that the bookmark does yet contain text.
