We have a custom template but seem to be running into issues when it is used
on French Windows. It appears that the field added for tables and equations
is not the same and is language specific for each SEQ it seems to create.
Does anyone know anything about this and how to make it work for both
properly?

If you are referring to captions, then yes: the built-in caption
labels have different names in different languages, and the underlying
field code for each type of caption reflects those different names. To
fix this, you can press Alt+F9 to display field codes and then use
Edit | Replace to change the SEQ field identifier.

The issue is when dealing with document that may be edited on both French
and English systems by different people, because the SEQ field name changes
based on the OS language you end up with two different SEQ instead of 1.
