    - Calling Functions in Word I've been stuck for far too long on this - please can someone help me ?! Ok, here's what I'm doing. I have a word template (.dot) with loads of code in it. It's in startup. I am opening a new document, inserting a code module, and I want to call a function in the template (which is loaded) Apparently this seems impossible? For example, if I create a routine in my template: Public sub Check() ..whatever... End sub I can run it from my other code module using application.run("templatename.modulename.Check") However if I change sub to function - one big error. I also cannot pass anything in to this routine when it's a sub. For example: application.run("templatename.modulename.Check", arg1) will not get to Public Sub Check (arg1 as var) in the template.     - Fields reappear after they are unlinked when section break is remo I have a written a short macro that unlinks fields located in the header,and a second macro removes the last page in the document (a summary page for routing). However, when the last page is removed, the unlinked fields in the header return! I have tracked the problem to the deletion of the Section Break (continuous) .... does anybody know what the dynamic is that is causing this or how to fix it? Thanks!     - loadlibrary und DLL Hi, I try to install a DLL called "tmWord.dll" with loadlibrary(). But this only works, when the runtime files of tmWord.dll are located in the Word program folder. The strange thing is, that tmWord.dll itself can be stored in another folder. Example: tmWord.dll needs the runtime files: vo1.dll, vo2.dll,vo3.dll tmWord.dll is stored at c:\progamme\myWord. Therefore that all is working fine, Vo1.dll, vo2.dll and Vo3.dll have to be stored in the progamm folder of MS Word! Vo1-Vo3.dll can not be stored together with tmWord.dll in a separate folder like c:\progamme\myWord.     - Outlook should have a "smart select" function When I'm typing along and make a typographical error, it would be very useful to be able to do a "Ctrl+Chift+<--" on the fly and have it only select up to the point where the mistake first began, instead of selecting the entire word.     - Skip Section I have a document with a table in all of the headers except section 1. I want to insert text into the table and skip seciton 1.     - accessing mail through vba I'm trying to mail something to a list of addresses in my spreadsheet. As best as I can tell, everything works fine EXCEPT, the mail never seems to go out.     - Macro efficiency vs other languages? Ok, hopefully this is an ok place to ask this but I couldn't find anywhere else that seemed appropriate. I'm inheriting a word macro that basically takes huge HUGE documents and parses them. Roughly what it does is split the document at certain keywords into seperate individual documents. I'm told that currently the process if very very slow. I'm simply wondering, due to having no real experience with macros, if this process would be quicker in another language, like Perl or something? I just don't know how efficient macros are and if they are as efficient, less efficient, or more efficient than other programming languages. Anyone able to offer their thoughts?     - VBA Script in Excel I am not sure if this is where i should be (i hope so, if not please let me know where to post this and i will do so). I have followed the instructions from the web page www.rondebruinnl/code.htm on setting up Option Explicit in every module and it has worked for several users however there is one user that it is not working. My users use Terminal Server to access programs. Everyone has access to Excel 2003. the issue that i am having with setting up VBA Script is as follows: I go into Excel/tools/Macro/Visual basic editor once in there I go to Tools/ Options and check off Require Variable Declaration than OK. i would get Option Explicit at the top of the personal .xls sheet1(code) however this one particular user I do not get that.     - sporadic macro function I use the following code to automate the digital signing of word documents. Most of my users use Word 2003, but some use 2007.     - Updating Values of Embedded Spreadsheet I have a spreadsheet that I linked to in my Word Document. Actually the way I did it was to insert an Excel Worksheet and I put this code below as the value of the cell =SUMPRODUCT('C:\Documents and Settings\cashmoregf\Desktop\2008_Injury_Report.xls\[2008%20Injury%20Report.xls]2008 Injury Rpt'!$O$4) This value should then go to the spreadsheet mentioned and grab the most current value in that spreadsheet.     - Help with Borderrs and Shading Dialog I am trying to return the value of user settings in the Borders and Shading dialog. I can determine the Left, Right, Top, Bottom, Horizontal, and Vertical border styles selected an then use that information later on to set one or more table borders.     - Table reference and calculation I have a document that has several tables, (about 35+). These documents will be used to create some base documents for other staff to use. The tables represent different "sections" of the document where staff will enter scores for questions in the tables. The first section of the document may have between 3-20 tables and the scores will need to be calculated. But I will not know exactly how many tables there will be in the first section from document to document. How can I check to determine how many tables are in the first section and then calculate the data in the second column? I do not want to include tables in the total that are in the rest of the document. Is there a way to name a table? I can bookmark a table, but not sure how to reference the cell value.     - Macro Security Settings Disabled 2007 - Bug? Is this a bug with trusted locations and VBA File System Object disabling Macro Security Settings in Word 2007 and I presume Excel also.     - Close Dialog boxes Hey, I remember seeing a post in the past, but I can't seem to find it now. I am programatically closing a word doc and it dosen't close the whole thing. It leaves the word pane open still because a dialog box opens that says something like, "There is alot of info in the Clipboard. Would you like to keep it available when Word closes?". I would like to get Word to count each word in a given sentence, then tally that number and place it in brackets after the period. Can Word do this with a macro?     - Underline text Hi, I have the following macro that will underline the first sentence of any text formatted with a Heading 1 style. I'm trying to rewrite the macro to accommodate legal style numbering as in: ARTICLE I LEASES AND RENTS In this example "article 1" is auto numbering coming from the style and then there's a line break (Shift+Enter). I want the macro to underline the title of the section, in this case 'LEASES AND RENTS".     - Macro misbehaving... I have Office 2007, but I've designed a template and a Macro for an employer who has people using both Word 2002 and 2003. Since it's for someone else with a different versions of Word, I can't store it normally. Since I don't know the file structure of their computers, I figured it would be best to just create a folder on my C-drive so that they can store it in the same place when I send it to them. Here's the problem. I've designed 2 templates. The first template needs to call up the 2nd and place the contents of the 2nd template at the top of various pages in the 1st one. That's where the macro comes in. It inserts a page break then opens the 2nd template, copies the contents and then pastes those contents at the top of the new page. I purposely instructed the Macro so save in the normal.dotm file so that it could be run from any other file when the keyboard shortcut is used. It works like a charm from within the first template as long as the template itself is open. However, when I attempt to use the template as it is designed to be used...meaning that it opens a copy of itself in a temporary document (Document1, Document2, etc.), then the Macro fails to work. I get errors stating that part of the component set is missing...the actual template that has opened a copy of itself instead of the original. I've deleted and re-recorded this Macro so many times...but the results are always the same. What am I doing wrong? I have been trying to get this done for over 5 hours now. Logically, you can't set a table's properties prior to its creation.

What do you mean when you say "if I insert the table and then set the table properties it cuts the text"?

Dunno what you want exactly, but a quick test suggests that the wrap and
positioning properties appear to belong to the table rows object.
