I placed a template on one PC in the directory located at
Tools...Options...File Locations...Startup - and the toolbars and macros are
available. On another PC, with the file placed there, it is not available.
And I switched Security to low. Any reason the template toolbars and code
would not be available?

Don't switch secuity to low. Set it and Medium. Set security to trust
installed templates and add-ins.

Actually did not work. Any other setting that would turn this off? Virus
program prevent it from working?

I went to Tools...Templates and Add-Ins, and under the heading "checked
items are currently loaded" the template does not appear, so the user added
it by hand and checked it, and now it loads. But I need to distribute this
and tell users to simply place this file in the Startup directory. Any
better idea of distributing the file and/or making sure it appears in the
list?

It will only appear in the list if it is installed in either the Word or the
Office startup folder (the latter creates other issues) the former is user
specific. If it didn't appear in the list and had to be checked by hand, it
was either not a Word template or it was inserted into the wrong folder.

Well, I know it is a Word template. I think I can verify this if I double
click and open it, and it opens into a new document, not the dot file
directly. And the file was placed into the startup folder. I wish I could
figure out some setting that could prevent it from being seen. The user
actually had to click Add in the Templates and Add-Ins form to add the
template. Now it always does appear. Any last comments?
