    - Viewing and scripting word document in browser I am charged with building web based application which allows user to choose one of the published word templates (Word 2003) from the web server, and instantiate word document. When user instantiates document I need to prefill some of the fileds using word document object model. I would like to embed the word document in one of the frames, so when the document is instantiated - I can prefill the form fields inside the browser. I tried using the DSO Framer control available on microsoft site, however, thsi active X component does not allow me to create new document from template.     - Find if paragraph or sentence contains font (italic,bold,etc) I'm looping through the document at the character level to convert it to another format. Needless to say, things are slow. Is there any way I can quickly check if a paragraph or sentence contains font styling or a special style such as hyperlink(so I can simply return the range.text for those)?     - Interoperability I ain't real sure this is the place for this but I will ask anyway. I have to place numerous word documents on a server. A user goes through a selection process and decides what documents he or she want's. I have to create a master document and then add all the other selected documents to the master word doc in a specific order. To top this off I have to capture some numbers that are entered in the word documents and fill out an excel spreadsheet and do the math on the numbers. I am using VB.NET.     - Problem with setting the focus in a textbox This is obviously a very minor problem but I wouldn't mind a solution just the same. When I set the focus on a textbox I don't see the insertion point if it's a multiline textbox. You can see it received the focus when you press tab, because then the focus moves to the next control.     - Visual to Logical convertion in bidirectional system (Hebrew) Hello! My goal is to build Word document from DOS/MAINFRAME file in bidirectional system (Hebrew). I use function in bidi32.dll (BiDiConvertOemToAnsi) to convert strings from Visual to Logical. (The bidi32.dll is installed with bidirectional versions of Microsoft Office). I have problems with this function, it doesn't do the best Visual/Logical convertion.     - Word deleted CTRL-Shift-P shortcut - how can I restore? I meant to press CTRL-Shift-P to open the Format - Font dialog box, but I must have accidentally pressed CTRL-Shift-Hyphen and then pressed a menu item.     - Windows application list Hi Everyone: I am not even sure if this is the correct place to post my question. If not , sorry about this. I am running a windows 2000 machine, and the last time I was updating it, somehow, I ended up with some sort of harmless (but annoying) virus from the MS web site. Basically, every time I run MS Word and I am on the web, my computer runs a program that shifts my Word window around, and clicks on some of the menus, and even clicks on the start button, and opens explorer and a bunc of other software. However, if I never start word, I do not think this program runs. Now I was wondering if in windows 2000, there is a way of knowing what allpication has been run since you turned on the computer. I have looked at event logs, but it does not show the list of run applications. When the virus program runs, I can see the time on my computer, and if I can see a list of the run applications along with the time, then I can delete the virus.     - Finding text raised by some decimal value I am trying to write a macro to find raised text, specifically, I would like to be able to find and replace the text raised by 3.5 points.     - Does a paragraph know it is in a table? I have some code that iterates through the paragraphs in the paragraph collection of the ActiveDocument and sets the LeftIndent for the paragraph based on the paragraph above it (actually the TextPosition property of a List item above it). Everything is fine until I hit a paragraph that is actually embedded in a table cell instead of being free standing. The result is that the LeftIndent for the text does get placed where I want it (inside the cell), but the table that it lives inside is still flush left and I'd like to move it over too. This is complicated when there are two columns in this table... my code finds the paragraph in the second column as well and sets its indent relative to the left edge of the 2nd column, which I don't want to do at all. So tables and paragraphs intermingle, but the paragraph collection doesn't seem to know about the tables and the table collection doesn't know about paragraphs.     - Update only certain fields in template I have a template that has several document variables and text fields in it. There are 2 userforms that allow a user to update the document by dropping the text into the fields and updating them. One of the userforms works great, it updates and all is fine. The other one however clears all text in text fields when it updates. The code is the same for both userforms with the exception of the variable names, so I don't understand why they act differently. I would like to run additional code from within the template after the app is done and has filled-in all bookmarks. If I put my code in an AutoNew procedure in the template, it executes before the other app is done. Hi VBA guys.
See I have an assignment.
I have to read column and cell values from Excel work sheets and use
them in another word file.
eg. one column might have a header called Font.
I have to read the value from this cell, and use the font
in another document for changing the font. Is it possible to implement
this idea. And hey I am new to working with excel VBA.
Is it very difficult to code this I mean just reading values,
from one excel file and use them in another word file.

Hi,
(reference to excel-library needed,
extras references),
then
lets say you have an excel worksheet,
with "size" in one of the cells in the first row,
with the values 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 in the following rows
in the same column.

then
create a new excel.application,
open the workbook in question,
select the first row in the first worksheet
which gives you the column to search
and while the next cell in the same column
contains data, format e.g. the corresonding
paragraph in you doc in the font.size read
from the excel sheet.

If you decide to set the excel.application
to visible = false, then make sure to destroy
both the objects excel.application und excel.workbook
before the end of your macro.

My code is in no way optimized.
I just wanted to show the very basics.
