Preventing Word from displaying the list of macros

I use a ton of short text macros in my work. I really don't need Word to
display the list each time I call a macro. Is it posible to prvent Word from
doing this?

What do you mean by "short text macros?" What is it that you do to
call one of these macros that results in a list being displayed?

How do you want to call one of your macros adn what is it that you
would like to happen when do?

I mean macros that only insert text strings.

For example, the macros UNESCO would type
United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.

The problem is that when you call a macro, a windows pop up with the list of
all your macros, wich I don't need. It's annoying, and it slows down the
computer...

I mean macros that insert short text strings.
For example: the macros UNESCO would insert the full name:
United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.

However, when you call a macro, Word opens a window with the list of all the
macros I have, wich I don't need. It's quite annoying when you use a lot of
macros like me and beside, it slow down the computer a bit as word tries to
gather up all the info to display.

Your concept of "macros" is a carryover from WordPerfect. You should
use Word's AutoText or AutoCorrect features. See:

Of Coruse it's a carry over from WordPerfect!

As a translator, I pump out some 500 000 words a year - 99% in WordPerfect
5.1!
Yes, you read it right! 5.1... Still the best. :)

The auto text is a fine feature but is does have some limitations. For
exemple, you can't use acronyms to call a string.

So, if, like me, you have text strings for all the government departments,
it's a bit akward as all the entries would have the same beginning
"Department of national bla bla bla.." Not as fast as using a couple of
letters to call a string.

They're must be a way around problem 1 (the pop-up list of marcos) or
problem 2 (using short acronyms to call autotext entries).

Any Ideas?

Sure you cam. You name your AutoText whatever you want.
Write the text once, select it, the in the AutoText Dialog write the name
you want (overwrite the suggested name you get when Word opens the dialog).

Department of National Backstabbers
Department of National Slackers
Department of National Baby Snatchers
Department of National Skirt Chasers

Select the first line of text and create an AutoCorrect entry:
Something like Replace: donb With: the selectected text

dons
donbs
donsc

seems easy enough to me provided you can remember all of your
entries. Since you don't want to deal with a list I assume that you
are prepared to do that.
