There could be a couple of things, but the immediate one that comes to mind
is if they are using a different printer.
EVERYTHING - and I mean that literally - everything in Word is
setup/displayed by the installed local printer driver. The page numbering is
directly derived from the local printer driver.
I have seen a difference of page numbering on two machines printing to the
SAME network printer. One machine had a slightly different version of the
same printer driver.
The pages ended up different on the same document, to the same printer.
As I said, it could be other things, but i would start to check there.
